My Problem: God, I can’t keep my mind from being double-minded. I can’t seem to constantly believe that I can no longer conform to the pattern of this world. I ASK You to help me read this vital Scripture, believe Your Word, and the confess the results You give me through the creative power of Your Word.

The Creation Scripture: But those who live in accordance with the Spirit HAVE their minds set on what the Spirit desires. Jesus, I believe this creation Scripture just created a MIND-SET in me. I now live in accordance with the Spirit; and, I HAVE my MIND SET on what the Holy Spirit desires. Thank You Jesus for healing me through this verse.

The Results: I NOW KNOW that I no longer conform to the pattern of this world. Faith in the creative power of this Scripture is bringing my mind into focus on the desires of the Spirit. This Scripture has now given me permission to have my mind set on what the Spirit desires. This Scripture has also given me God’s creative power which has enabled me to focus on the desires of the Spirit. But, I now have the continued responsibility to accept the truth of this Scripture. You through this Scripture, and I through faith in this Scripture, will be working together on the control and focus of my mind on the desires of the Spirit.

Jesus, teach me that doubting isn’t me lacking faith; it is me having misplaced faith. It is me putting my faith in something that is contrary to You and Your Word. Show me that my continued responsibility is to accept the truth of this Scripture and state: “I live in accordance with the Spirit and I HAVE my mind set on what the Spirit desires.” When I am tempted to conform to the pattern of this world, when Satan tries to tell me that I am not strong enough to resist his temptations to conform to the patterns of this world, and when other people try to talk me into conforming to the patterns of this world, empower me to use this Scripture to win.

Rom 8:6 (NIV) The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind CONTROLLED by the Spirit is life and peace. Jesus, help me see that I am now ready to expose myself to the creation power of Holy Spirit control. Teach me that this isn’t something that HAPPENS to me like getting my mind set. Getting my mind set is finished; all I have to do is yield to You and Your power to keep my body, the world, or the devil from convincing me that it isn’t finished and isn’t invincible. Being controlled by the Holy Spirit means the Holy Spirit is constantly having to deal with my God-given free will. I control the Controller.

Jesus, help me understand that when I am led by the Holy Spirit to start doing things that are the opposite of the patterns of this world, each time this happens, I face a cross road. At that moment, when facing that issue, I decide whether or not I am going to ALLOW the Holy Spirit to control my thoughts, feelings, words, and deeds. Make it clear to me why I would give control to the Holy Spirit. Show me that it is because the mind CONTROLLED by the Spirit is life and peace. When my mind is controlled by the Holy Spirit my thoughts in my mind, my feelings from my heart, my words that flow out of the abundance of my heart, and the deeds of my body will be supernatural. As a child of God, I will be living as a dynamic child of God.

1 Th 4:3-7 (NIV) It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to CONTROL his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.

Each of you should LEARN to CONTROL his own body: Jesus, teach me how I do that.

I could:

• TRY to make my body read and study the Bible.


• TRY to make my body have good devotions everyday.


• TRY to make my body listen to good Christian music.


• TRY to make my body read good Christian books.


• TRY to make my body go to church or to a good small group.


• TRY to make my body think on Philippians 4:8 things.


• TRY to make my body yield to the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23.

Jesus instead, help me moment by moment and issue by issue, ASK for Your help, read or quote Romans 8:6, keep believing it is a creation Scripture, and get the results of me letting the Holy Spirit give me a mind that is CONTROLLED by Him.

Mat 6:22-23 (NIV) The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

I could:

• Try to examine the words and the beat of the music I listen to and try to listen to the music You want me to listen to.


• Try to evaluate the content and concepts in the shows and movies I watch. And, try to set standards for what I should be exposed to.


• Try to critique the kind of literature I look at and read. And, try to eliminate anything that expresses principles and belief systems that are contrary to the Bible.


• Try to honestly and sincerely examine what kind of people I spend time with. And, try to decide which ones I should spend time with and which ones I should avoid.


• Try to go over my typical conversations and see if they are representative of a true Christian.


• Try to look at what I do together with other people. And, try to decide whether or not I am doing those things the Bible instructs me to do; or, I am doing what the Bible speaks against.
