The Submission Courses Part 1

Workbook For
“Submitting Your Attitudes”

Praying For STUDY To Train My Heart
Jesus, You are now moving me into the second step in The Six Biblical Principles which is STUDY. Show me that studing the Bible gives me truths that will help me understand what is available to me. Help me understand that all the textbook book pages in these courses are specifically designed for a type of study; and, all the workbooks are specifically designed for a type of prayer. But, the type of study and type of prayer in these pages will be devoted to special emphasis on one of The Six Biblical Principles. This is so I can be led by You into getting all of these things flowing in and through my life.

Mat 5:3 (NIV) Blessed are the POOR IN SPIRIT, for theirs
is the kingdom of heaven.

I Am Getting God’s Power-Attitudes
Jesus, take me through each of God’s power-attitudes from this point on. But, make it clear to me that I must allow You to do more than just explain them to me. Use each of these textbook pages to explain and help me see the truth about each of the power-attitudes of God. Then on the next page, use the workbook page to help me invite God and His power-attitudes into my life. I now pray and ask You to help me believe that You are answering each prayer provided in the workbook pages. Help me know that this will get each of these power-attitudes placed inside my heart.

Poor In Spirit
A Type Of Me Being Teachable
Jesus, teach me that the reason this power-attitude of God isn’t named “teachable” is because it is much more complex than that. Show me that a person who is teachable can be gullible. Help me see that a person who is poor in spirit is only teachable as it relates to God’s truth. Make it clear to me that if it isn’t knowledge, foreknowledge of the future, understanding, and wisdom from God and the Bible, poor in spirit will empower me to reject it. Teach me that as I open my heart to God’s power-attitude of being poor in spirit I will be able to tell the difference between truths of God and all other information. Show me that once I have God’s knowledge, foreknowledge of the future, understanding, and wisdom, I can make decisions and take actions that are based on facts.

My Source Of Information
Isa 55:8-9 (NIV) “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Jesus, help me see that God is offering this kind of information to me right now. He is asking me to allow my life to automatically raise to a much higher level of success and victory. Help me see that when I became a Christian, I received the ability to comprehend spiritual things.

Jesus, I was a person without the Spirit I did not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they were foolishness to me, and I could not understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. But now, I am a spiritual man who can now make judgments about all things, but I, myself am not subject to any man’s judgment: “For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But I HAVE the mind of Christ (1 Cor 2:14-16).

Me Becoming Poor In Spirit
Jesus, when I am in pride I become one of the wicked does not seek You; in all my thoughts there is no room for God (Psa 10:4). Teach me that one of the aspects of pride is for me to have a know-it-all attitude. Help me decide that I want God’s knowledge, foreknowledge of the future, understanding, and wisdom. But, show me that if there is ANY area where I think I already know the answer, or, I think I know someone who can give me the answer, that is an area where God CAN’T put His power-attitude of me being poor in spirit. Make it clear to me that my human thoughts are far below the thoughts of God. But, pride can keep me from being aware of how inadequate my thoughts are. Teach me that pride goes before my destruction, a haughty spirit before my fall.

The Information Of God Brings Me Blessings
Jesus, help me understand that I am blessed if I am a person who finds wisdom, a person who gains understanding, for it is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. It is more precious than rubies; nothing I desire can compare with it. Long life is in its right hand; in its left hand are riches and honor. Its ways are pleasant ways, and all its paths are peace. It is a tree of life to me because I embrace it; because I lay hold of it I will be blessed (Prov 3:13-18). Jesus, help me see that this is what I am looking at right now; and, this is what I am inviting into my heart.

Being Poor In Spirit Brings Me Blessings
Jesus, you said: Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Mat 5:3). You are asking me to submit my attitude of receptivity to knowledge, understanding, and wisdom to God; and, I now submit my attitude to these things. You want me to accept the Bible as the information that I am willing to base my life on; and, I now accept the Bible as my authority. If I think something, believe something, or think I know something that disagrees with the Bible, I now reject my opinions, beliefs, and principles. Empower me to replace them with the Bible’s truth.

Jesus, even though being poor in spirit will weaken my confidence in myself, I look to You to empower and build my confidence in God. Jesus, I now accept that the the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength (1 Cor 1:25). Use this Scripture to help me be open to all God has to offer. Use this Scripture to help me be willing to allow You to replace all the things I was depending on.

Being Poor In Spirit Brings Me Power
Jesus, You are now saying to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” And now I am saying to You: Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, SO THAT Christ’s power may rest on me (2 Cor 12:9). You are asking me to allow being poor in spirit to empower me to take my eyes off of myself and other humans and put them on God. You want to help me see the inadequacies of humans and the great superiority of all MY God has to offer. You want to help me see God’s attitudes and character so it will first help me trust Him; then it can lead me into wanting Who He is and what He has. I now ask for all of this because He has the kind of attitudes and character I need and want.

Being Poor In Spirit Brings Me A Powerful Ministry
Jesus, now empower me to go to people in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. Let my message and my preaching not be with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, SO THAT their faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power (1 Cor 2:3-5). I yield to You and invite Your poor in spirit attitude into me; through it let me get breakthroughs in my own life. Let me, by being poor in spirit, not go around showing people how great and successful I am. Let me be leading them to You, Who are able to give them the same types of breakthroughs You gave me.
