Luke 6:38 (NIV) Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Jesus, what if those who helped me be born again just got born again but didn’t share it with me? What if those who matured and started getting breakthroughs and blessings didn’t teach me how to get them? Teach me two things that would have happened; first, I would still be lost and in my sins; and, second, the rewards, blessings, and miracles that come through giving wouldn’t have come their way. Help me see this and not let this happen to me.

Jesus, teach me that KNOCKING comes after ASKING and SEEKING. Help me see that the more I ASK and SEEK, the more miracles, blessings, and breakthroughs I get. Teach me that the more You bless me, the more I want to tell someone about it. AND, teach me that the more I tell others about it, the more I get miracles, blessings, and breakthroughs. AND, also teach me that the more I get miracles, blessings, and breakthroughs, the more I have to share with more people. Make it clear to me that the way for me to live The Victorious Christian Life is to allow You to set my will-power on sharing every wonderful thing I get.

Jesus, help me KNOCK so I will be at the right place, at the right time, doing and saying the right things, to the right people. Let KNOCKING open doors of opportunity for me to FIND those people who WANT what I am offering. I don’t want to go around sharing and never getting any results. Help me see that without KNOCKING, I will be using the trial-and-error process. I will be the one deciding who to share my breakthroughs with. But, show me that on my journey to the right place, at the right time, doing and saying the right things, to the right people, I will run into Satan’s people who will try to keep me from sharing. Prepare me for this so I won’t let it stop me.

Mat 5:11-12 (NIV) Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Jesus, empower me to not let these people keep me from getting to the right place, at the right time, doing and saying the right things, to the right people. Teach me that persecution is a normal part of me KNOCKING and getting great opportunities to share; but, help me allow You to strengthen my will-power.

Jesus, teach me that Jews weren’t allowed to associate with people who weren’t Jews. Help me understand that these people were called Gentiles; Gentiles were all the people in the world who weren’t Jews. Prior to Your ministry, if I were a Jew and I went into the house and spent time with a Gentile, I sinned. Help me identify with Peter as You prepared him to walk through a door that went against his previous training.

Acts 10:11-16 (NIV) He (Peter)saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles of the earth and birds of the air. Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.” “Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.” The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.” This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven. Help me feel what Peter felt as You prepared him for a door You are about to open. Show me that this door brought salvation and justification to ALL Gentiles.

Jesus, help my will-power to be ready for the fact that KNOCKING can put me in places where it may NOT seem like I am at the right place, at the right time, doing and saying the right things, to the right people; but, I am. Help me to do like Peter, when three men asked him to allow them to take him to a house FULL of Gentiles; and, help me be like him where, because of the vision You gave Peter, he went where he had NEVER gone before. Acts 10:27-28 (NIV) Talking with him (Cornelius, a Roman centurion), Peter went inside and found a large gathering of people. He said to them: “You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with a Gentile or visit him. But God has shown me that I should not call any man impure or unclean.

Jesus, teach me that when I submit my will-power to You, I get very special results. Acts 10:44-47 (NIV) While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out EVEN on the Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God. Then Peter said, “Can anyone keep these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.”

Jesus, teach me that without me KNOCKING, I may find myself making sure I am always protected from inconvience, trouble, pain, or persecution. But, make it clear to me that these Gentiles’ eternal destinies were at stake. Let KNOCKING make sure I am ABLE to direct my will-power to be where I need to be; and, let it make sure certain people’s hearts are prepared in advance so they can decide to accept my message and influence.

Gal 6:9 (NIV) Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Jesus, prepare me for the possibility of KNOCKING bringing me such challenges that I may choose to stop KNOCKING. But, help me see that KNOCKING empowers me to choose in everything, do to others what I would have them do to me, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets (Mat 7:12). Let it keep my eyes on the fact that there are very few people who will tell these desperate, hurting, and needy people the truth. Show me that KNOCKING does as much to me as it does to those who are waiting for me. Use it to prepare me to start heading my will-power in the right direction as much as You prepare them to start heading their will-power in the right direction.
