Jesus, as You and I spend some time looking at Kingdom opportunities, help me learn how eternity is going to work. Show me that I won’t be sitting around on clouds, playing a harp, and bored out of my mind. In this next Scripture, explain to me the correlations between the things I am doing here now and how it will affect my activities in the Kingdom of God. In this parable (a story that has special spiritual meaning) You are the King, I am one of the servants, the money (minas) You gave me was my physical and spiritual gifts You gave me in my life. The money that was increased from the money-gift, are my physical and spiritual accomplishments while living on this planet.

Jesus, You are the man of noble birth. You went to a distant country to have Yourself appointed king by going to heaven and then to return back to this world again. So he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas. This is where You gave me all my talents, skills, abilities, and gifts. ‘Put this money to work,’ he said, ‘until I come back.’ Help me see that I must “do what it takes” to be the very best in all You have assigned me to accomplish. But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘We don’t want this man to be our king.’ Many people have rejected You; but, I ask for Your power to accept You and all You are giving me.

He was made king, however, and returned home. This is You coming back to earth as the conquering King. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it. This will be my opportunity to show You all the things I have allowed You to empower me to do. The first one came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned ten more.’ ‘Well done, my good servant!’ his master replied. ‘Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.’ Jesus, help me be like this servant; I want to be the very best possible in You.

The second came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned five more.’ His master answered, ‘You take charge of five cities.’ Give me all the talents, skills, abilities, and gifts You have to offer so I will do better than this servant.

Jesus, help me not be anything like this servant. Then another servant came and said, ‘Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth. Help me not bury those things You have given me. Help me put them to work, take advantage of them, and reach the very best possible potential. I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. Help me not get mad, upset, disappointed, or frustrated when You don’t allow things to go the way I want them to. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.’ Teach me all about Your wonderful character and attitudes. Help me see clearly how awesome You really are.

Jesus, I notice how each one of these servants was given the same opportunity to be successful at life; that is what You have done for me. I believe You have given me the very best opportunity to succeed and excel in all spiritual results. This coin their master gave them was like the life God has given me. I can’t be born again, if I haven’t been born in the first place. Thank You, first of all, that You allowed me to be born on this planet.

Help me to also notice how Your life-system works. The first servant took that same amount as everyone else and used it to earn ten more of what he was given; help me to do the same. Help me to use Your financial system that is very productive. Like this servant, it is easy for me to know about such a financial system because I am working for a very successful master. All I have to do is copy my Master’s methods and I will be well on my way to success.

Jesus, I can see, I will have it all; everything will be so great and exciting that I will be thrilled that I decided to let You cure me of the spiritual disease of sin. I am not going to be bored; I will have the greatest amount of fun, happiness, joy, and pleasure my special, glorified body can stand.
