Jesus, it is written in the Bible that “The first man Adam became a living being;” the last Adam, a life-giving Spirit (1 Cor 15:45). Help me understand these two aspects of my life so I can see my future potential. Help me accept that this human life can be just the beginning of my existence.

Adam and Eve were created as humans and I was born through them as a human. Jesus was born on earth as a God/Man and I can be born again as a child of God. Let what I got from Adam show me my humanity; let Jesus show me what I can experience from Him for my spirituality. Show me that all of human life is like this; God created it so it would explain things I can’t see or feel. The things I am now experiencing in life can be used to help me understand how spiritual things work.

The first man Adam became a living being: Jesus, Adam and Eve are my grandparents. They started off the human race; and it has come all the way down to me. They passed their DNA down to me which made me have a HUMAN body. The last Adam (Jesus), a life-giving Spirit: After that You were born and You have been giving spiritual birth to Christians. You are passing Your spiritual DNA down to all who are born again. You are my life-giving Spirit.

Jesus, help me understand that the spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual (1 Cor 15:46). Show me that I HAD to be born a human before You would allow me to be born a spirit being. I have to allow You to work on my attitudes and character so I can be trusted with the power that comes through being a spirit being.

Adam came before You in chronological order of humans ON THIS EARTH. But, as God, You have always existed. However, as a human, You came to this earth much later than Adam. Adam represents my human body that I got first. You represent my eternal life that I get when I am BORN AGAIN. Jesus make it clear to me that flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit (John 3:6). I must be born as a human before God will allow me to be born again into a spirit being. I must be born again and be trained in Your principles before I will be ready to enter into eternity.

Jesus, You represent the spiritual body that every Christian is going to get next. The order of these two sources of my existence sets the pattern for me. This is to help me understand why I have to be born first and then I have to be born again. I have to have a human life before I qualify for having a spiritual life. I have to have a human body before I qualify for a spiritual body.

Like Adam and Eve had to come on this planet first as a human, I had to be born a human to be able to get these provisions from God. They ONLY exist for humans. I accept the fact that they aren’t available for angels or any other of God’s creation.

Jesus, help me fully understand that the first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man, which is You, came from heaven (1 Cor 15:47). This is all dealing with my temporary life and my eternal life. Show me what to do with my temporary life so as to enhance my eternal life.

God made Adam and Eve from the dust of the earth; help me read and study that in Genesis, the first book in my Bible. That is what my human body is made up of. You came from heaven; my new body is going to be made of heavenly material that lasts forever. When I choose to make You the Lord and King of my life, I am not only being born again as a child of God, I am added to the list of people who will soon receive new, heavenly bodies. I now have a human body like Adam; in eternity I will have a body like You.
