Our Father In Heaven

Our
Pray This Prayer For Others
Jesus, as I hear about people’s faith in You, the Lord Jesus and their love for all the saints, empower me to not stop giving thanks for them, remembering them in my prayers. Help me keep asking that the God of You, our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give them the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that they may know Him better.

Help me pray also that the eyes of their heart may be enlightened in order that they may know THE HOPE to which He has called them, THE RICHES of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His INCOMPARABLY GREAT POWER for us who believe. That power is like the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms (Eph 1:15-20).

Praying For Others, Blesses You
Jesus, teach me and empower me to live this BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE, that if I give, it will be given to me. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into my lap. For with the measure I use, it will be measured to me (Luke 6:38).” Let the “our,” “us,” and “we” words in The Lord’s Prayer bring the kind of attitude found in Ephesians 1:15-20 into my prayer time. Show me that I am not just in my prayer time to pray for myself, I have a whole family of believers to be praying for. Teach me that every Christian I hear about needs to become a part of my prayers. Let the above prayer become something I include in the “our,” “us,” and “we” words in my prayer time. Help me see what kind of results they will start getting in their spiritual growth when I pray for them.

The Three Heart Checks
1. Is This Your Sincere DESIRE?
Jesus, empower me so that in everything, I do to others it will be what I would have them do to me, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets (Mat 7:12). Empower me to look not only to my own interests, but also to the interests of others (Phil 2:4). At this point in my prayer, help me stop and ask God if I really do care about everyone else being included as His children. Help me read Ephesians 1:15-20 and see if this is what I desire for everyone, everywhere. When I include others through The Lord’s Prayer by using the words “our,” “us,” and “we,” empower my heart to be concerned just as much about them as I care about myself.

2. Is This Your Sincere NEED?
Jesus, help me not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let me encourage one another--and all the more as I see the Day approaching (Heb 10:25). Jesus, You said in Matthew 18:19-20 (NIV): “Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in My name, there am I with them.” Give me a strong desire to be a part of a Christian group. Let me feel a need to pray together, worship together, share together, and work together. Let the “our,” “us,” and “we” in The Lord’s Prayer touch a community and family need in my heart.
3. Is This How You Sincerely FEEL?
Eph 1:15-20 (NIV) For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. Help me want the people I am including in my time of praying The Lord’s Prayer to get to know God better. Help me want them to receive those things God is giving me. Help me want them to be blessed with those things I am asking God for in my life.

Father In Heaven
Love-Power At Salvation
Jesus, You said through Romans 5:5b (NIV) that God has poured out His love into my heart by the Holy Spirit, Whom He has given me. Help me, at this point in my prayer, to pause and allow the love I have received from the Holy Spirit, at the moment of salvation, to be used. Let it be used so I can FEEL this close, intimate feeling of love for my Father in heaven. If this feeling ever gets weak, help me say, “MY Father in heaven,” over and over again until the Holy Spirit helps my heart open up and start feeling the closeness of the relationship I have with Him.

Love-Power In Sonship
Jesus, You said through Romans 8:15 (NIV) that I did not receive a spirit that makes me a slave again to fear, but I received the Spirit of sonship. And by Him I cry, “Abba, Father.” Teach me that abba is a term of tender endearment by a beloved child – i.e. in an affectionate, dependent relationship with my father. Teach me that I received the Spirit of sonship so I could feel this special attachment and relationship with my heavenly Father; show me that sonship is a love relationship.

Love-Power For Your Relationship With God
Jesus, empower me to yield to God’s love that has been poured into my heart so I can LOVE the Lord my God with ALL my heart and with ALL my soul and with ALL my mind and with ALL my strength (Mark 12:30). In Romans 5:5, the Bible helps me understand that the Holy Spirit gave me GOD’S LOVE so that I would have the power to fulfill Mark 12:30. From that time on, I have been learning how to take advantage of having that kind of powerful love. Teach me that this makes me able to love with a love that is greater than any other form of love.

A Love-Power Prayer
Jesus, at this moment in my prayer, I yield to God’s love-power and I feel a great affection for my heavenly Father. I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that God’s love-power has made me able to feel a great affection for Him. Now that I can feel the effect of my mouth’s confession and my heart’s belief, I say: “Our Father in heaven.”
