Workbook For
“The Lord’s Prayer For Mature Christians”

Your Kingdom Come

Kingdom
We Have A Lot To Learn
Jesus, help me understand Mark 10:14-15. Help me not be like the disciples who were telling parents that the children couldn’t be brought to You. When You saw this, You were indignant and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the KINGDOM of God like a little child will NEVER enter it. Teach me that my ATTITUDES either filter out Biblical truths or embrace them; if I don’t agree, don’t like, or don’t want Your Kingdom truths, I block them out of my mind and heart; that would keep me from entering into it because I would have bad CHARACTER traits.

Asking Jesus To Help With Our Attitudes And Character
Jesus, help me use this workbook to go over the ATTITUDES presented in Matthew 5:3-12 and the CHARACTER traits in Galatians 5:22-23. Now that I have read the truths in the textbook, let me take advantage of this workbook to ask You to help them become MY attitudes and MY character.

Kingdom Attitudes
And Character Make The Difference
Scriptures Listing Attitudes And Character
Jesus, teach me Matthew 5:3-12 that lists the Kingdom ATTITUDES that must come into my heart; and, teach me Galatians 5:22-23 that lists the CHARACTER traits that I must have to live in God’s Kingdom. Let the attitudes in Matthew 5:3-12 open the door to these character traits in Galatians 5:22-23 for my life. Help me use this workbook to pray for God’s power-attitudes to enter into my attitudes so I become RECEPTIVE to these character traits.

Attitudes That Open The Door To God’s Character
Jesus, make me “poor in spirit” so I will be teachable; help me “mourn” over those things I am still doing that hurt me, others, and God; help me be “meek” enough to allow God to be my ONLY source of truth; help me be a person who is able to “hunger and thirst for righteousness” so I only do good things to myself, others, and to God’s plan; help me be “merciful” so I am empowered to do good things to people who don’t deserve it; help me be “pure in heart;” help me be one of God’s “peacemakers;” and help me be willing to be “persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Show me that these are all vital so I will grow into a mature, adult child of God.

Attitudes That Close The Door To God’s Character
Jesus, help me not be a person who is a lover of myself, a lover of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to my parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not a lover of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, a lover of pleasure rather than a lover of God--having a form of godliness but denying its power. And, help me have nothing to do with those who are. (2 Tim 3:2-5).
Jesus, teach me that I must not allow these attitudes to fill my heart and mind. Don’t let them become the doors that close me off from the Bible, the Holy Spirit speaking to my conscience, my Father drawing me to You, and You being able to cure me from all my past, present, and future sins. Empower me to allow Your power-attitudes to crowd out all these evil attitudes so I will be allowed to enter God’s eternal Kingdom. Teach me that these attitudes and character traits would infect and destroy His eternal Kingdom and its citizens.

Character Traits That Must Be Installed
Jesus, fill me with the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Teach me that against such things there is no law (Gal 5:22-23). Let these power-characteristics empower me to treat myself, other people, and God’s plan with right, good, and righteous thoughts, feelings, words, and deeds. Let them help me have the ability to establish a good record not only with God, but start perfecting my record with people.

Character Traits That Must Be Replaced
Jesus, teach me there are also certain characteristics for me to pray against that are listed in Galatians 5:19-21. Teach me that they are the works or wants that my body will have tendencies to desire. I first pray and ask You to give me the characteristics of Galatians 5:22-23. And, then I pray AGAINST the human characteristics of Galatians 5:19-21 and ask You to crowd them out with the fruit of the Spirit.

Preparing To Pray For God’s Kingdom
Jesus, I now say: “Your Kingdom come.” I now confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that the power, healing, and love of God’s Kingdom has started healing my heart and life. Now help me add all the Scriptures the Bible has brought to my attention that I need in order to get my questions answered, my needs met, my problems solved, and my spiritual growth increased.

Heal The Hearts Of Me And My Friends
Jesus, You said: “The time has come,” and, “The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news (Mark 1:15)!” Help me make a list of the people I know who do not have You as their Savior, Lord, and King. Help me start praying for them that God’s Kingdom would come into their heart. I now pray: “Your Kingdom come” into the hearts and lives of my friends that I have written on my list.
