Jesus, teach me that BELIEVING is my way of knowing WHEN I HAVE submitted my soul (human life and body) to You. Teach me that unless I know WHEN I HAVE those things I have been DESIRING, STUDYING about, and PRAYING for, I will be in a never ending pursuit. Mark 11:24 (AKJV) Therefore I say unto you, What things soever you DESIRE, when you PRAY, BELIEVE that you receive them, and you shall HAVE them. Show me that when You speaks faith into me, it empowers me to BELIEVE and know that I HAVE what I have been DESIRING, STUDYING about, and PRAYING for.

Heb 11:6 (NIV) And without FAITH it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must BELIEVE that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. Jesus, help me allow You to speak faith into ME so I can live as a child of God. Help me allow You to empower me to BELIEVE I HAVE the power to overcome my issues with loss of a loved one. Show me that as I submit my human life and body (soul) to You, I will have to allow You to give me faith that convinces me that all my pursuit of You HAS BROUGHT me to the place I needed to be.

Jesus, I now pray this vital prayer: What a wretched person I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death (Rom 7:24)? Teach me that this is a very important prayer for sanctification; help me see that it demonstrates that I have the WANT and HATE presented in Romans 7:15: Rom 7:15 (NIV) I do not understand what I do. For what I WANT to do I do not do, but what I HATE I do. Teach me that those who do not have this WANT and HATE are not true Christians. You gave them to me at salvation; show me that they are vital for heading me into praying for spiritual growth (sanctification). Help me use WANT and HATE to lead me and motivate me into the powerful freedom of The Victorious Christian Life.

John 16:8 (NIV) When He (the Holy Spirit) comes, He will CONVICT the world of GUILT in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment. Jesus, teach me that this is the way God warns me about things I am doing that are wrong, bad, or evil. Show me that as a Christian through my clean record with God, these wrong, bad, and evil things I do ACCIDENTLY are considered misdeeds rather than sins. Rom 6:23a (NIV) For the wages of sin is death. Teach me that if everytime I did something wrong it was a sin, I would lose my salvation and my relationship with God.

Jesus, unlike the other high priests, You do not need to offer sacrifices DAY AFTER DAY, first for Your own sins, and then for the sins of the people. You were sacrificed for their sins once for all when You offered Yourself (Heb 7:27). Teach me that in the Old Testament, people had to keep going and getting their SINS forgiven. But, You offered Yourself as a sacrifice for all our past, present, and future sins. So that wretched feeling I am praying about from Romans 7:24 is a good guilt; it is helping me come to my heavenly Father about a misdeed of my body I committed against myself and those around me.

Jesus, teach me that there are three types of guilt the Holy Spirit convicts people about: He will CONVICT the world of GUILT in regard to SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS and JUDGMENT. Show me that before I was saved and justified, He was convicting me of sin. Now He is convicting me concerning righteousness. Make it clear to me that it isn’t a sin; it is a misdeed; but, help me understand that it isn’t the righteousness I am supposed to be doing. Teach me that righteousness is ONLY doing good to myself, other people, and God’s plan. Help me see that if what I think, feel, say, or do isn’t righteousness, then my conscience will convict me concerning righteousness.

Jesus, teach me that good guilt helps me realize that my clean record with God doesn’t keep me from hurting myself and other people. Show me that my clean record with God just gives me direct access to God so I can start living a righteous life with myself and other people. Teach me that even though they aren’t sins because of my clean record with God, they are misdeeds against me and other people. I and these people are being hurt, damaged, and misled by these misdeeds. Empower me to allow the Holy Spirit to cause me to feel bad about them so I will “do what it takes” to get rid of these misdeeds.

Jesus, teach me that godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death (2 Cor 7:10). Teach me that I should be experiencing a DISCONTENT, DISSATISFACTION or CONCERN for the acts I am doing through my body that hurt me and those around me. Teach me that I also need to feel this CONCERN about the lack of righteousness (thoughts, feelings, words, and actions that bless me and others) through my life.

Jesus, let this lead me into:

1. Telling God I am sorry.


2. Going and making things right with the people I hurt.


3. Applying The Six Biblical Principles to getting myself empowered to never do it again.

Jesus, teach me that these three steps are called repentance. But, make it clear to me that if I don’t feel like I am going to be allowed to repent, if I feel like God wouldn’t accept my repentance, if I feel I have done something that I can’t be forgiven of, then help me see that I am being made to feel guilty by Satan; show me that, that would lead me into spiritual death, if I stayed on that path of condemnation.

Heb 9:14 (NIV) How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, Who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, cleanse OUR CONSCIENCES from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! Jesus, teach me that once again, there are two types of guilt; there is the one talked about in John 16:8 which is from the Holy Spirit. Help me understand that He warns me about things that are destroying me and others lives even though they provide me with a lot of pleasure. Teach me that this guilt is telling me that my thoughts, feelings, words, and deeds are hurting me and those around me.

Jesus, also teach me that there is bad guilt that comes from Satan; help me see that it is trying to destroy me as a Christian. He is trying to take my conscience and use it against me. Show me that if I don’t know the difference, I will be confused, damaged, and misled.

Jesus, teach me that if I am still feeling guilt that is making me feel helpless, hopeless, and lost, then I am experiencing satanic guilt. Rev 12:9-10 (NIV) The great dragon was hurled down--that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. Help me always see that Satan is my enemy and wants to use everything that God has given me to do me harm.

Jesus, show me that whether is is my conscience, my body, sex, financial blessings, marriage, family, friendship, or my career, Satan tries to take them and pervert them into something that hurts me and those around me. Help me see that as in fish bait, lures, and traps, Satan takes the good things of God and tries to tempt me into something that would, hurt, mislead, or distract me into a bad direction. Take me into seeing that Satan will try to use my conscience against me, other people, and God’s plan for my life.

Jesus, teach me that when I get bad guilt flowing through my conscience, Satan is telling me that salvation didn’t work for me and that I am still guilty of committing sin. He is taking the inconsistencies that I start out with as new or untrained Christians and making me feel a kind of guilt that makes me experience helplessness, hopelessness, and defeat. He is trying to tell me that I will NEVER win over those things that are being done by my body. He is trying to make me BELIEVE that I don’t stand a chance against him and his temptations; but, help me always KNOW that he is a liar.

Jesus, teach me that as I continue to grow in the strength of my faith in You, the Savior of my salvation, this type of guilt will go away and I will be set free. Teach me that the Bible is explaining to me in Romans 7:15-24 WHAT THE NORMAL experiences of a new or untrained Christian ARE. Help me understand that it is NORMAL for me to start out failing; I have only known how to use human effort and world training; teach me that this is typical of all us humans who are new or untrained Christians. Help me understand that it WILL be like this until I start growing spiritually and begin enjoying the benefits of sanctification; show me that this is what I am doing now.

Rom 7:23-24 (NIV) But I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my MIND and MAKING ME A PRISONER of the law of sin at work within my members.  WHAT A WRETCHED MAN I AM! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Jesus, teach me that this DISCONTENTMENT, this wretched-person-I-am, attitudude can be misunderstood or misinterpreted as being the same as a guilty conscience. Show me that I can feel like the Holy Spirit is still finding fault with my life. Help me see that this is actually a good desire for me to be changed by God. It is the Holy Spirit helping me be DISSATISFIED. He is helping me with the fact that I am hurting myself and others. Make it clear to methat salvation has produced this new attitude in me toward the thoughts, feelings, words, and deeds of my body.

Jesus, teach me that if I live according to the sinful nature, I will die; but if BY the Spirit I put to death the MISDEEDS of my body, I will live (Rom 8:13). Jesus, make it clear to me that prior to salvation, these weren’t misdeeds; they were sins I AND my body were committing that were hurting me and others. Help me see that if the Holy Spirit hadn’t been dealing with my conscience about them, I would have felt fine about my way of life. Show me that I and the people around me were getting damaged in a massive way; but it appeared that, that was just the way of life; it looked like everyone was doing it.

Jesus, help me understand that because the Holy Spirit was convicting me of sins and making me feel guilty about living that way, I felt bad. Show me that He was warning me that these activities were not only hurting me and those around me, but would eventually cause eternal death (separation from God). Teach me that this helped me turn to You for healing through salvation. Teach me that once Your blood covered these sins and stripped all punishment from them, all of these activities CEASED TO BE SINS and became MISDEEDS of my body rather than SINS. BUT, help me see that the Holy Spirit is helping you feel bad about the fact that I am still living contrary to God’s word; show me that, that is discontentment.

Rom 6:23 (NIV) For the wages of sin is death, BUT the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Jesus, make it clear to me that sins hurt my relationship with God; they separate me from Him and must be dealt with through salvation. Also make it clear to me that misdeeds of my body hurt my relationship with myself and people; and, they must be dealt with through sanctification (spiritual growth).

Jesus, teach me that the Holy Spirit’s guilt helped me feel my need of salvation. His discontentment after salvation help me feel my need for sanctification (spiritual growth). Help me realize that the guilt I felt prior to salvation was warning me about sin. The discontentment I feel when I do something wrong now, is dealing with misdeeds of my body. Show me that God honors and rewards that hatred I have for these misdeeds; and He doesn’t hold them against me. This is because salvation and justification gave me a clean record with God.

Jesus, I thank You that for the first time I am in agreement with God on the issues of these activities in my life. I am still not living like I should, but You have empowered me to agree with God as to how I SHOULD be living. Show me that if I react to this situation correctly, it will cause discontentment or dissatisfaction about the fact that I am NOT living like I should. If I react to this situation correctly, I will “do what it takes” and start applying The Six Biblical Principles to it; help me see that this will start me growing spiritually (sanctification). Help me wait on You; help me keep my eyes fixed on You until You speak faith into me. Then I will KNOW and BELIEVE I have the power to start defeating these misdeeds of my body.

Rom 8:13-14 (NIV) For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if BY the Spirit YOU put to death THE MISDEEDS of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. Jesus, teach me that this is a cooperative procedure with You through the Holy Spirit. Teach me that these few words, “if BY the Spirit YOU” are the powerful key to winning over my body and living The Victorious Christian Life.
