Phil 2:3-4 (NIV) Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Jesus, help me see that this isn’t a human assignment; show me that this is going to take the power of God to make it happen. As I go about my day, I am going to have to have a special power from God to help me make this kind of decisions. So, help me realize that God did give me a special power so You and I can make this happen.

Jesus, make it clear to me that hope does not disappoint me, because God has poured out HIS LOVE into my heart by the Holy Spirit, Whom He has given me (Rom 5:5). Teach me that God’s LOVE is my power to care about people outside of myself. Show me that WHEN I HAVE submitted my soul (human life and body) to You, I will be set free from selfishness. Since my body is animalistic, selfish, self-centered, and only cares about its pleasure, safety, and freedom from pain, help me see that it HAS to be submitted to You. Show me that if it isn’t, I won’t be able to LOVE others. Teach me that God’s LOVE helps me see things from other people’s perspectives.

Jesus, You said in John 14:15 (NIV) “If you love Me, you will obey what I command.” Then in John 15:12 You explained what Your commandment was: John 15:12 (NIV) My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Teach me that the wonderful thing about this commandment is, I don’t have to try to love myself and others with my love. Help me always keep in mind that at salvation, I GOT God’s love poured into my heart. Make it clear to me that it is a powerful love that I can yield to. And, it will help me not just care about my own best interests. Empower me to only involve myself in win/win situations.

Rom 5:5 (NIV) And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out HIS LOVE into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, Whom He has given us. Jesus, teach me that yielding to God’s LOVE is a moment-by-moment and issue-by-issue process. Help me understand that everytime I start to make a decision or take an action I am faced with whether or not I will yield to God’s love. Help me ask myself, is my decision or action a win/win decision or action; or, is it a purely selfish or self-centered one? Help me also ask, am I causing myself to believe I am doing it for someone’s benefit but really am not? Teach me that my body will be pushing me for animalistic, selfish, and self-centered decisions and actions. Help me apply The Six Biblical Principles to these actions and decisions so my body won’t win.

Jesus, teach me that if I live according to the sinful nature, I will die; but if BY the Spirit I put to death THE MISDEEDS of the body, I will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God (Rom 8:13-14). I have mostly seen myself as a physical person who IS a body. I have assumed that the animalistic desires of my body that craves pleasures and demands experiences that end up disappointing me, as being MY desires and wishes. Teach me that the truth is, I am a spirit living IN a body. Help me understand that, as a spirit being who has been born again, I actually love the things of God: Rom 7:22 (NIV) For in my inner being I delight in God’s law;

Jesus, help me understand Romans 7:22-23; let it make it clear about me: For in my inner being (spirit) I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in the members of MY body, waging war against the law of MY mind and making ME a prisoner of the law of sin at work within MY members. Yes, I am a spirit being; but, I live in a body that has drives, demands, and needs that are being communicated to me. Show me that if my body couldn’t communicate with me, then I wouldn’t need to submit it to You; it would just do what it was told. But, because it got a SINFUL NATURE through Adam and Eve’s sin, it is FORCING me to do things I shouldn’t. But, You have given me the WANT and HATE of Romans 7:15.

Jesus, make it clear to me that IF I do what I DO NOT WANT to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me (Rom 7:16-17). Teach me that the SINFUL NATURE is living in my human body; show me that, that SINFUL NATURE is driving, controlling, and running my body. Help me understand that my body is winning over my spirit; it is dominate because it is the part of me that interacts with the physical world. Help me learn a whole new system for MAKING my body do what You and I WANT.

Jesus, keep working with me until I understand that IF I do what I DO NOT WANT to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. So I find this law at work: When I WANT to do good, evil is right there with me(Rom 7:20-21). Teach me that with my perfect record with God, He no longer sees me as being the one who is doing wrong, bad, and evil. BUT, help me see that even though God looks at me and my body that way, I and the people around me DON’T. They and I see me going around mistreating them and myself; AND, they are holding me responsible for it. Plus, help me understand that God is insisting that, for every person I do hurt during this time, I MUST go back and make it right with them.

Jesus, make it clear to me that according to Romans 7:17 and 20, it is NO LONGER me who is doing these misdeeds; it was me before salvation but it isn’t now. However, help me understand that God is only going to look at me and my body this way for as long as I WANT to do the right, good, and righteous things, and, as long as I continue to HATE doing the wrong, bad, and evil things. Show me that if I fail to do anything good and didn’t ACTUALLY WANT to, I sinned; it wasn’t a misdeed. If I do anything bad and didn’t ACTUALLY HATE it, I sinned; it wasn’t a misdeed. Teach me that this MUST ALWAYS be me: Rom 7:15 (NIV) I do not understand what I do. For what I WANT to do I do not do, but what I HATE I do. Help me always keep that WANT and HATE.

Jesus, help me realize that If I decide to simply forgive, excuse, or explain the failure away, I will have sinned; it was not a misdeed. If I go to my friends and try to get them to tell me it wasn’t my fault, I sinned, it wasn’t a misdeed. Teach me that I MUST “do what it takes” to WANT and HATE the way You, the Holy Spirit, and the Bible tell me to. So, Jesus, how do I “do what it takes” to go from just WANTING and HATING the way I are supposed to? How do I use my WANT and HATE to motivate me to pray the “wretched” person prayer: Rom 7:24 (NIV) What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?

Jesus, show me what happens if I try to apply The Six Biblical Principles using human effort and world training. Show me what is wrong with me TRYING to DESIRE, STUDY, PRAY, BELIEVE, LOVE, and take FAITH-ACTION. Make it clear to me that I WILL fail! Teach me that as a Christian I MUST apply The Three Keys To All Christianity to The Six Biblical Principles. Teach me that as His child, God isn’t asking ME to produce DESIRE, STUDY, PRAYER, BELIEF, LOVE, and FAITH-ACTION. Teach me that it isn’t what I can do for God; it is what God can do for me. Help me understand that I am NOT having to use my love to love people. Show me that Romans 5:5 told me that God gave me HIS LOVE so I could love myself, other people, and Him. Teach me that, that is the way ALL of Christianity works.

Jesus, empower me to always ASK and it will be given to me; empower me to always SEEK and I will find; empower me to always KNOCK and the door will be opened to me (Mat 7:7). Help me see that You clearly tell me what will happen if I use these three keys to all of Christianity. Show me that You are assuming that I am using them on the right things; if not, show me that they won’t work; but, help me see that using them on The Six Biblical Principles is the right thing; AND they WILL work on them.

Jesus, empower me to DESIRE to submit my body to You. But, if I don’t yield to that DESIRE and the answer is “no” or “I’m not sure,” then help me see that it is not a problem. All I have to do is, ASK You to help, train, and empower me to GET that DESIRE. If I am addicted, trapped, overwhelmed, or enslaved to a situation, a lifestyle, a job or career, or a relationship, empower me to always turn to You and ASK You to work me a miracle. Help me keep realizing that it isn’t what I can do for God; it is what God can do for me. Show me that He can take His LOVE, that the Holy Spirit poured into my heart, and help me GRADUALLY start seeing how much I am hurting yourself and others. Teach me that this will help me DESIRE to give up anything that is labelled a sin by God.

Jesus, teach me that the only way I am going to start seeing this situation the way God sees it is to pray and ask Him to change my way of thinking. Show me that God isn’t going to leave me here in this dissatisfied, confusing, and frustrating condition for very long. But, help me see that I need to stay here long enough so He can take me to the next level in training. Teach me that the only way I am going to be able to be helped with my problems with spirituality is to see where these problems are coming from NOW. Teach me that, that is the only way God and I are going to be able to work together to help me win over my body. Teach me that God’s LOVE is going to show me how I am not only hurting myself, I am hurting others; let me see that this will help me pray with a greater intensity for being set free.
