Jesus, help me submit my MIND to You. I was taught, with regard to my former way of life, to put off my old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of my MIND; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness (Eph 4:22-24). Make it clear to me that the way to “do what it takes” to put off my old self and to put on the new self is to apply The Six Biblical Principles to them. Help me understand that putting on the new self is covered in these Living Victoriously Through Submission courses. And, also help me understand that putting off my old self is covered in the next set of courses called Living Victoriously Through Resistance.

Jesus, teach me that my eyes, my ears, and my body are the windows to my MIND. My EYE is the lamp of my BODY. When my EYES are good, my whole BODY also is full of light. But when they are bad, my BODY also is full of darkness. Empower me to see to it, then, that the light within me is not darkness. Therefore, if my whole BODY is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on me (Luke 11:34-36). Teach me that submitting my MIND to You means I start allowing You to empower me to only expose myself to those things You and the Bible are telling me to expose myself to.

Jesus, make it clear to me that I am DECIDING to EXPOSE myself to You and the Bible by studying and praying the things in these courses. You are filling my MIND with the truth about life here on earth and eternal life in heaven. You are putting powerful concepts into my MIND so I can store up new philosophies, concepts, principles, doctrines, and facts into my HEART. Show me that as this happens, my heart gets changed and transformed into a new HEART; AND, THAT becomes the new me. I start to actually live out those wonderful things that I was ONLY credited for in my record with God. Teach me that submitting my mind to being exposed to Your truths is my path to complete and total deliverance from difficulties with marriage.

Jesus, help me understand that I am not only deciding to EXPOSE myself to certain things, I am also deciding what I want to be thinking about during my day. Jesus, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--empower me to think about such things (Phil 4:8). Help me CONCENTRATE on those things that fulfill these requirements. Teach me that things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy will fill my MIND with positive and enjoyable thoughts. They will turn me into a very excited, positive, and faith-filled person. They will change my heart into one that provides me with supportive, beneficial, encouraging, and righteous emotions.

Jesus, who has known the MIND of the Lord that he may instruct Him? But I have the mind of Christ (1 Cor 2:16). Teach me that this means I can understand, analyze, apply, and process dynamic and powerful spiritual thoughts. Show me that this is a new ability for me; prior to my salvation and justification, I couldn’t think any spiritual thoughts. I was a person without the Spirit who did not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they were foolishness to me, and I could not understand them, because they are spiritually discerned (1 Cor 2:14).

Jesus, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no MIND has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him”--but God has revealed it to me by His Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God (1 Cor 2:9-10). You are empowering me to see into the future as the Holy Spirit explains the Bible to me. I am now able to apply my earthly activities to those things that will enhance my eternal life. You have empowered me to NOT live like I am going to cease to exist when I die. I am deciding and determining to live this life in such a way that I am investing in my eternal future.

Jesus, who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. I have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit Who is from God, that I may understand what God has freely given me (1 Cor 2:11-12). I know who I am, what I can do, and how to go about doing it. I know I am a child of God; I know that I can now live in Your power-life; and, I know how to apply The Six Biblical Principles so I can go about living The Victorious Christian Life.

1 Cor 2:13 (NIV) This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. Jesus, Your Bible is telling me the truth about how life works here and how things are going to be in eternity. Teach me that it is like a light has been turned on for me; show me that before, I was walking around in darkness. I was being taught misconceptions, fake knowledge, and even lies. But, I couldn’t protect myself from them because I didn’t have any evidences to the contrary. But, with You light shining all around me, I can see for myself what is true and what is false. Help me understand that as You and the Bible shine the light of truth on all of the things in this world, I can quickly SEE what is going on.

Jesus help me imagine being in a large building with a lot of people and it suddenly becomes totally dark in there. If someone then yells out “fire,” help me see how it is highly possible I would not make it out of there without being damaged and maybe even killed. Show me that, that is very much how my life was like prior to salvation and justification. But, if all of a sudden someone turned the lights on, help me see how much my chances of survival would be increased dramatically. But then, if You showed up beside me in that panic stricken group of people in that building, I would not only survive, I would be led out of the building into a powerful and successful way of life.
