MY THOUGHTS
I Am Submitting My Thoughts To The Right Things
Phil 4:8 (NIV) Finally, brothers, whatever is TRUE, whatever is NOBLE, whatever is RIGHT, whatever is PURE, whatever is LOVELY, whatever is ADMIRABLE--if anything is EXCELLENT or PRAISEWORTHY--think about such things. Jesus, help me see that You aren’t telling me what to think here; You are telling me WHAT KIND or TYPE of things to think. Show me that You want to help me see that if a particular thought doesn’t have these characteristic to it, I MUST NOT THINK IT! If I am thinking about “something” and it lacks ANY of these characteristics, then it should not occupy my thoughts. Teach me that this list isn’t one where as long as most of them are being followed, the thought is okay. Teach me that the thought must qualify for every item on the list in order for You to be pleased with it.

I Am Thinking Thoughts That Are TRUE
Jesus, I may not know whether something I am thinking is TRUE. Make it clear to me that if that is the case, then I must treat it as an unproven thought. If I “guess” it is TRUE, then I am entertaining a thought that fails the list. If someone “told” me it was true but I don’t know it for a fact, then I am entertaining a thought that fails the list. If I am just spreading gossip and trying to convince others that it is TRUE, then I am entertaining a thought that fails the list. Help me always know for a fact that a thought is TRUE, BEFORE I entertain it in my mind.

I Am Thinking Thoughts That Are NOBLE
Jesus, empower me to think thoughts that represent or demonstrate fine personal qualities or high moral principles and ideals. Help my thoughts to be locked into that which is right, good, and righteous. Let that help me be thinking about things that I want to do or say that are beneficial, win/win, and helpful. Empower me to be thinking thoughts that plan ways of being honest, filled with integrity, and moral. Even though I won’t be able to automatically live a righteous, noble life, even though I will face situations that will challenge honesty, integrity, morality, and righteous living, empower me to allow You to help me think about ways to avoid wrong, bad, and evil, as I go about my day.
|
I Am Thinking Thoughts That Are RIGHT
Jesus, teach me that right as opposed to wrong can often be a mistake. But, also teach me that good as opposed to bad or righteous as opposed to evil are things done on purpose. Help me see that not everything I face is a sin; it will be wrong; but, it won’t be bad or evil. Teach me that God doesn’t just deal with sin and righteousness. He also deals with what is best for me and those around me. He wants me and others to experience His very best. Help me yield my thoughts to God’s best; help me not settle for thoughts, plans, goals, or strategies that are mediocre.
|
I Am Thinking Thoughts That Are PURE
Jesus, make it clear to me that when something is PURE, it isn’t mixed with anything else. My thought won’t have some parts of it that are honest, loving, moral, and righteous and also have parts that are dishonest, unloving, immoral, and unrighteous. Help me understand that a thought or plan can be mostly right, good, and righteous. It can be almost pure; but, have a little bit of something that keeps it from being the very best for me and those around me. Help me purify my thoughts so that every aspect of a thought is right, good, and righteous. |

I Am Thinking Thoughts That Are LOVELY
Jesus, teach me that thoughts which inspire love are LOVELY; show me that it is a yielding to thoughts that help and assist me in loving myself, others, and God. Teach me that there are thoughts that inspire hate, disrespect, revenge, and all kinds of wrong, bad, and evil. But, a lovely thought is one that helps me plan, come up with feelings, and consider reasons for loving someone. Show me that it is a thought that inspires me to want to love a person; it gives me a reason to love them; and it causes me to start to feel love for them.
|
I Am Thinking Thoughts That Are ADMIRABLE
Jesus, teach me that a thought that is worthy of ADMIRATION is a thought that I can honor, be pleased with, and can consider worthy of investing further consideration. Show me that it is a form of thinking that has high qualities, good attitudes and character, and is a valuable way of thinking. If it is ADMIRABLE, it is worth concentrating on, pondering, meditating on, and developing into a plan.
|
I Am Thinking Thoughts That Are EXCELLENT
Jesus, teach me that a thought that is EXCELLENT, is a thought that excels to the highest levels of quality. Show me that if my thoughs are EXCELLENT, then I am devoting them to the very best types of thinking. I am allowing You to give me thoughts that are God-sized, supernatural, and holy. They are thoughts that are bigger, better, and superior to any kind of thought I, as a human, could think. Empower and teach me how to use my mind of Christ to start thinking spiritual thoughts.
|
I Am Thinking Thoughts That Are PRAISEWORTHY
Jesus, show me that I can think about mundane, boring, common, and uneventful things. Or, I can allow You to help me think of things that really motivate me to think, feel, say, and do PRAISEWORTHY things. Since God, the Holy Spirit is inside me, help me yield to His guiding me into concepts that are incredibly wonderful, helpful, considerate, and loving plans and accomplishments. Help me think about doing benevolent things that are quite amazing. Let them be thoughts that help me reach my highest potential in righteousness.

I Am Thinking Philippians 4:8 Thoughts
Jesus, make it clear to me that it is impossible to think like this on my own. Make it easy for me to see that this is going to take me submitting my thoughts to You. 1 Cor 2:16 (NIV) “For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. Jesus, make it clear to me that I have Your mind installed in my mind; show me that, that means I can think Your Jesus-thoughts. Help me apply The Six Biblical Principles and start DESIRING to think Philippians 4:8 thoughts. Give me Your power-thoughts so they will start popping up in my mind.
