Jesus, since the objective of the breastplate of righteousness is to cause me to be permeated with righteousness, help me be filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through You--to the glory and praise of God. (Phil 1:11)

Jesus, Your Scriptures train me in how to put on and use the breastplate of righteousness. So help me be receptive to all the Scripture because it is God-breathed and is useful for teaching me, rebuking me, correcting me, and training me in righteousness (2 Tim 3:16).

Jesus, I will be rewarded for my taking advantage of the breastplate of righteousness. So, I will not only reap the benefits of its protection, I will be rewarded by You. So, now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which You, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day--and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for Your appearing (2 Tim 4:8).

Jesus, since growing spiritually to maturity is a process where I learn how to put on and successfully use the breastplate of righteousness, help me grow into a mature, spiritual adult. Show me that anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness (Heb 5:13). Help me grow from an infant into a person who can successfully get on, keep on, and take full advantage of my breastplate of righteousness.

Jesus, since God’s discipline helps me get on, keep on, and take full advantage of my breastplate of righteousness, give me proper attitudes about His discipline. And since no discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful, later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it (Heb 12:11). Let me gladly yield myself to being trained by it so it can produce a harvest of righteousness and peace in me and my breastplate of righteousness.

Jesus, make me into a peacemaker who preaches the gospel message of righteousness. And empower me to help others get their breastplate of righteousness on. Make me into a peacemaker who sows in peace and raises a harvest of righteousness (James 3:18).

Jesus, help me get rewarded for putting my breastplate of righteousness on and helping others get theirs on. But in keeping with Your promise I am looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, my home of righteousness (2 Pet 3:13). I look forward to not only having a breastplate of righteousness, I look forward to having a home that consists of it.
