Breastplate of Righteousness Scriptures Continued
Jesus, since the breastplate of righteousness is designed to keep me free from sin and to make me a slave to righteousness, help me understand and appreciate slavery to righteousness. I thank You that I have been set free from sin and have become a slave to righteousness. Thank You for putting this in human terms because I am weak in my natural self.
Just as I used to offer the parts of my body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now empower me to offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness. When I was a slave to sin, I was free from the control of righteousness (Rom 6:18-20). Help me be thankful that I am no longer free from the control of righteousness.

Jesus, when I refuse to put on God’s righteousness, I start trying to protect myself with my own righteousness; that is why I sometimes fail to win at life. Since there are times that I don’t know the righteousness that comes from God I seek to establish my own, that is when I do not submit to God’s righteousness (Rom 10:3). Keep me from ever falling into that trap again.

Jesus, keep me from being taken up with the cares of this world; because, that keeps me from getting my breastplate of righteousness on. Help me always realize that the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom 14:17).

Jesus, You are my source of the breastplate of righteousness. Heavenly Father, You chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; You chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. You chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things--and the things that are not--to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before You.
It is because of You that I am in Christ Jesus, Who has become for me wisdom from You--that is, my righteousness, holiness and redemption (1 Cor 1:27-30).
