Breastplate of Righteousness Scriptures Continued
Jesus, since this breastplate is made out of God’s righteousness that has been credited to my account as a gift, help me accept it as a gift; help me appreciate it as a gift; and help me take advantage of this wonderful gift. Jesus, the Scripture says that “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Help me to believe and trust You constantly rather than trying to wear the breastplate of righteousness through my own efforts. Show me that when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation. However, to the man who does not work but trusts God Who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness (Rom 4:3-5). Let me live this life of faith so I can wear this gift.

| Jesus, teach me that the breastplate of righteousness is to protect me from condemnation from Satan, the world, and even myself; show me that You want to give me justification. That means that all my past, present, and future sins are forgiven. Teach me that if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will I who has received God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the One Man, Jesus Christ. Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was CONDEMNATION for me, so also the result of one act of righteousness was JUSTIFICATION that brings life for me (Rom 5:17-18). Help me love and appreciate You for making this wonderful gift of the breastplate of righteousness available to me.

Jesus, the breastplate of righteousness makes it possible for me to use my body parts as instruments of righteousness. Help me yield to Your power so I can live that kind of life. Empower me to not offer the parts of my body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer myself to God, as one of those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of my body to Him as instruments of righteousness (Rom 6:13).

| Jesus, since obedience to You is the process whereby I put on and keep on the breastplate of righteousness, help me always be totally obedient to You. As I make my moment-by-moment and issue-by-issue decisions, I am either obeying or not obeying. Help me always know that when I offer myself to someone to obey him as a slave, I am a slave to the one WHOM I OBEY--whether I am a slave to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness (Rom 6:16).
