THE HELMET OF SALVATION
This Thing Looks Important
Jesus, teach me how and empower me to take the helmet of salvation: Since this is for my command center, help me keep it on at all times. Help me keep my four major control mechanisms protected by being inside this piece of armor. Since they decide how the rest of me is going to function, if this area experiences a direct hit without proper protection, my whole being will be completely debilitated. The battle will be over. Protect me from the god of this age who has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, Who is the image of God (2 Cor 4:4).
Jesus, explain the four control mechanisms that reside in me; teach me about my mind, my will, my heart, and my brain:
1. Break down the mind of my spirit into its important parts.
a. Help me understand my will and help me know what to do with it.
b. Help me understand my heart and help me know what to do with it.
2. Break down the parts of my human brain in my body so I can
understand it.
a. Help me understand that part that is conscious.
b. Help me understand that part that is subconscious
that I can’t access with my mind.

The Mind Of Our Spirit
Working With The Brain In Our Body
Jesus, teach me that among men the only one who knows the thoughts of a man is the man’s spirit within him. And, teach me this truth that in the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God (1 Cor 2:11). As I learn Scriptures about my mind, help me understand that my mind in my spirit is my conscious thinking process. This part of my human spirit decides what I want my brain to recall and store in memory. My mind evaluates life experiences and pulls data from my brain for processing. Make me into a person who only stores good things in my brain. Because, the good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him (Mat 12:35). Heal my brain and deliver it from any evil I have stored in it. Do this so I can process my experiences and memories and come up with conclusions that are only good.

Our Mind And Heart Working Together
Jesus, since my will is a part of my mind, and since my will takes the conclusions from my mind and decides what my belief system is going to be and what I will decide to do or not do, help me base all my thoughts and beliefs on Your Word. Jesus, those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires. Help me not have my mind on what my sinful nature desires. But those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires (Rom 8:5); help me have my mind set on what Your Holy Spirit desires.
Jesus, since my heart is also a part of my mind, and since God has poured out His love into my heart by the Holy Spirit, Whom He has given me (Rom 5:5b), let God’s love be the dominate emotion inside my heart. Since my heart contains all the emotions, and since my heart keeps all of my data from only being facts, let my heart put the RIGHT positive or negative value on all the data my brain recalls, my mind ponders, and my will believes or disbelieves and decides to do or not do. Jesus, protect me from being one of these brood of vipers, help me not be one of those who are evil, because I wouldn’t be able to say anything good. And the reason for that would be because that out of the overflow of my heart my mouth speaks (Mat 12:34).

The Command Center
- Jesus, My mind reasons, ponders, and evaluates information; help it to only reason, ponder, and evaluate those things that are Your truth.
- My will takes the evaluated information and decides what I am going to believe about it and what I am going to do with it; help me use it to only believe Your truth and to decide to only do Your will.
- My heart causes this belief system to be stored in the subconscious portion of my human brain. This information adds a depth of positive or negative feeling toward the issues. This helps me to build my belief system or system of conscience; help me allow You to guide me into the system of conscience that is totally pleasing to You.
As Your Holy Spirit also works in this area by causing me to feel guilt for any bad things I do or good things I fail to do, help me to totally yield to His leadership. Since He has come, He is convicting me of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment (John 16:8); empower me to respond to Him so He can make me into a person devoted to Your way of life.
- My brain stores the data for the mind in the conscious part and the data for the heart in the subconscious part; set me free from those things I stored in it that weren’t good for me, other people, and Your plan. Help me store all You have to teach me so I can be transformed by Your great truth and training.
Jesus, help me get the helmet of salvation that was provided at salvation and keep it on. Let it be worn as a protective cover over all four control mechanisms in my spirit and my body.
