The Prevention Courses Part 2

Workbook For
“The Helmet Of Salvation”

The Helmet Of Salvation Purpose
Jesus, I know You will come in Your glory, and all the angels with You. You WILL sit on Your throne in heavenly glory. All the nations WILL be gathered before You, and You WILL separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. You WILL put the sheep on Your right and the goats on Your left. Thank You for getting me ready to be placed on Your right side.

Then You WILL say to those on Your right, “Come, you who are blessed by My Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited Me in, I needed clothes and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you came to visit Me (Mat 25:31-36).” Let me look at the Scriptures that help me take advantage of the helmet of salvation so I will be able to live this kind of life.

Helmet Of Salvation Scriptures
The Gospel of peace provides the helmet of salvation
that protects the heart and mind:
Jesus, I believe that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard my heart and mind in You (Phil 4:7). It wasn’t until salvation entered into me that I was able to hear and understand Your principles that teach me how to pass my final exam. Thank You for transforming my will, heart, and mind so I could start loving others.

The Gospel of peace provides the helmet of salvation
to heal the heart and the mind:
Jesus, God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in You, and through You to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through Your blood, shed on the cross.

Once
I was alienated from God and was an enemy in my mind because of my evil behavior. But now He has reconciled me by Your physical body through death to present me holy in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation (Col 1:19-22). I am free from accusation because You have taught me and empowered me to apply Your principles and have made me able to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, befriend strangers, clothe those needing clothing, and visit the sick and imprisoned for everyone for the rest of their lives.

The helmet of salvation protects from human thoughts:
Jesus, You turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men (Mat 16:23).” Help me keep my helmet of salvation on so I won’t think “well-meaning” thoughts; but, I will have thoughts flowing from You. If my thoughts aren’t flowing through You then I won’t feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, befriend strangers, clothe those needing clothing, and visit the sick and imprisoned. And, without Your principles I won’t be able to do it for everyone for the rest of their lives.
Without the helmet of salvation, Satan can take away people’s minds:
Jesus, when they came to You, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid (Mark 5:15). Let me bring this deliverance to those who need their minds to be set free. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God (2 Cor 4:4). Help me bring Your principles to the world so they can see how great You are for meeting all our needs. Deliver me from the point where I think selfishly and don’t care about feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, befriending strangers, clothing those needing clothing, and visiting the sick and imprisoned.

The material the helmet of salvation is made out of is love:
Jesus, You told me to love the Lord my God with all my heart and with all my soul and with all my mind and with all my strength.’ The second is this: then You told me to ‘Love my neighbor as myself.’ There is no commandment greater than these (Mark 12:30-31).” This opens my heart, mind, will, and brain, so I can be willing to learn Your principles for how to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, befriend strangers, clothe those needing clothing, and visit the sick and imprisoned.

The helmet of salvation protects us from worry:
Jesus, You told me to not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own (Mat 6:34). Worry causes me to focus on myself rather than the needs of others. Help me to trust You so I can stop worrying about myself and concentrate on feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, befriending strangers, clothing those needing clothing, and visiting the sick and imprisoned for everyone for the rest of their lives.

The helmet of salvation helps us understand persecution:
Jesus, since the world hated you, help me keep in mind that it hated You first (John 15:18). Without the helmet of salvation, persecution causes me to quit doing what it takes to be different. I will either give up on Your way of helping people or I will try to be covert, obscure, and hidden in my efforts.

The helmet of salvation helps bring unity:
Jesus, make me one of those believers who are one in heart and mind. Help me not be one who claims that any of my possessions are my own, but to share everything I have (Acts 4:32). Help me start applying Your principles for feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, befriending strangers, clothing those needing clothing, and visiting the sick and imprisoned, so I can develop companies, corporations, businesses, groups, and churches that all work together in unity to provide this way of life.
