John 16:13-15 (NIV) But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to Me by taking from what is Mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is Mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is Mine and make it known to you.

• Teach me that: “He will guide me into ALL truth.”


• Teach me that: “He will bring glory to You by taking from what is Yours and making it known to me.”


• Teach me that: He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears. Help me understand that You are speaking to me through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit hears it from You and “guides me into all truth.”

John 16:7 (NIV) But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. Jesus, make it clear to me that the Holy Spirit is so important to me that You went away so He would come. Help me understand that You were in a physical body that could only be in one place at at time. However, with the Holy Spirit coming in Acts chapter two, You can be in large quantities of Christian bodies all at the same time.

John 16:8 (NIV) When He comes, He will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment. Teach me that the way the Holy Spirit let me know I needed You was to convict me of sin and righteousness and judgment He has been speaking to my conscience and helping me realize what iss right and wrong, good and bad, and righteous and evil. The reason I have been constantly aware of what I should and shouldn’t be doing has been the Holy Spirit working in my conscience. Show me that He has been in constant communication with me from the moment I started knowing the difference between right and wrong. Help me see that He has been my PERSONAL friend for a long time; He was showing me that I needed You to help me live a better life.

1 Cor 6:19-20 (NIV) Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, Who is in you, Whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. Jesus, make it clear to me that the Holy Spirit is VERY gentle; when He came into me at salvation and justification, I may not have known that He came in. Show me that He is in me; but, I have to learn how to respond to Him. Help me understand that one of the first things He did, when He came into me, was to make sure I knew I was born again.

Rom 8:16 (NIV) The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Jesus, help me understand that the reason I KNOW I have been born again and am God’s child is because the Holy Spirit is speaking to my spirit and telling me that I am God’s child. And, He is not only telling me that, He is speaking all truth to me Spirit-to-spirit. Teach me that this isn’t typically a verbal communication; it is an instant knowing. As I read my Bible or go through these courses, the Holy Spirit empowers me to understand the meaning. Show me that I wouldn’t get anything out of it, if He wasn’t explaining it to me.

John 16:8 (NIV) When He comes, He will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment. Jesus, I thank You that God has provided me with the Holy Spirit, Who will help me with my problems. Show me that it is like a baby that gets old enough to start crawling, it goes places that have potential harm. Its parents try to baby proof their house but sooner or later the baby will find something that can harm it. Usually the watchful eye of its parent sees the danger and intervenes. Make it clear to me that, that is what the Holy Spirit and my heavenly Father do for me. They watch over my life and provide me with warnings and solutions to my problems.

Rom 8:27 (NIV) And He Who searches our hearts [my heavenly Father] knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will. Jesus, I probably hardly ever know what I should be praying and asking God to help me with. So, I thank You that the Holy Spirit prays and asks God for those things I need. Show me that He helps me with my prayers so I will invite my heavenly Father into important situations. Teach me that the Holy Spirit not only connects me with You, He also connects me with my heavenly Father. He is to One Who opens the doors of communication with them.

Jesus, help me understand that I don’t have to worry about these problems I face. The Holy Spirit is going to be with me every step of the way. He will use this struggle I am having with drugs and will see to it that I learn the things I need to learn.

Jesus, make it clear to me that the Holy Spirit is going to always be there taking me through the New Testament. He is going to be explaining how to resist the damaging temptations and pressures that come my way. Also, show me that You are going to be using these studies to help me learn how to better cooperate with God’s Spirit so I can win at life. Teach me that, that is why He has seen to it that all these things have been put together for me.

Help me understand that the Biblical information presented here is what You have been using in Christian’s lives to help them with these issues. Their lives have been so blessed by these principles that they are now excited to be able to share them with me. So, help me allow You to show me what Spiritual-Growth training will continually do for me.
