Jesus, use the Fourth Study - The Prevention Courses, to help me consider wrong things that are trying to get into my life that I never wanted in there, but, didn’t know how to stop it.

Jesus, since God has given me spiritual armor for me to put on, let it provide me with protection against bad things that are trying to get into my life, such as guilt difficulties. But, help me keep some very important things in mind:

• Teach me that my Jesus-armor only deals with external things that are trying to get in that You and I resist together. If I try to resist them using human effort, it won’t work; I need Your power.


• Teach me that my Jesus-armor DOESN’T deal with things that are already in me. I must allow You to use God’s power-attitudes in Matthew 5:3-12 to remove those things I have already accepted into my life.


• Teach me that my Jesus-armor only deals with external things that I DON’T WANT coming into my life. If I don’t see anything wrong with something, I will let it in and Your armor won’t block it out. Make it clear to me that I have a God-given free will and God guards it with great intensity.

Help me understand that these truths are why You will be taking me through the other studies first. Until I have a better grasp of what God wants in my life, my spiritual armor from You will basically do nothing for me. But once I have started taking care of joining You and resisting wrong, bad, and evil with You, and once I have started working with You to get those the wrong, bad, and evil things out of me, and once I have started letting You help me bring my desires into allignment with the Bible, You, and the Holy Spirit in my conscience, I am better ready to start using my armor to prevent wrong, bad, and evil things from getting into me in the first place. Help me understand that I will never be perfect; but, I must start the process of being cleansed and purified by Your training through these courses.

Eph 6:10 (NIV) Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Jesus help me see that this is dealing with me, the warrior inside the armor. If I am yielding to You and Your power, then that will activate my Jesus-armor in a very dynamic and successful way.

Eph 6:11 (NIV) Put on the full armor of God SO THAT you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Jesus, take me through the steps that enable me to put on and use each item of Your armor. Show me that, THAT will empower me to take my stand against the devil’s schemes.

Eph 6:12 (NIV) For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Jesus, up until now, I have been trying to win against the competition, arguing against my adversaries, trying work my way to the top, defeating my opponents, and holding grudges against people. Help me learn from You how to use my armor against Satan my true enemy. And, let me learn how to treat myself and the people around me.

Eph 6:13 (NIV) Therefore put on the full armor of God, SO THAT when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Jesus, it is true that I already have a problem that is bothering me the most. But, I don’t want to always be behind the problems of life. Help me get ahead of the game. Help me with my issue with guilt and then help me learn how to use those principles to PREVENT future potential problems.

Eph 6:14 (NIV) STAND FIRM then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, Jesus, let me have God’s power-attitudes firmly locked inside my heart. Make me ready to start putting on each item of my armor. Teach me about the belt of truth that I will need to learn what it is, where to put it, how to get it on, how to keep it on, and how to use it. Teach me the same things concerning the breastplate of righteousness. Teach and empower me to get this done.

Eph 6:15 (NIV) and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Jesus, teach me what it is, where to put it, how to get it on, how to keep it on, and how to use it. Then let it protect me from satanic attacks that try to add other problems to the problem I already have with guilt. And, let it protect me from the negative spiritual food that has been feeding my struggles with guilt.

Eph 6:16 (NIV) In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Jesus, teach me that this item isn’t put on; it is used by You and me to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Teach me skills for being able to keep it in the place where the flaming arrows are coming from.

Eph 6:17 (NIV) Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Jesus, teach me that the helmet of salvation is worn and the sword of the Spirit is held and used. With the helmet of salvation, teach me what it is, where to put it, how to get it on, how to keep it on, and how to use it. With the sword of the Spirit, develop my skills for how to apply it to the battle.

Eph 6:18 (NIV) And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Jesus, take me back to the warrior; teach me how to allow the Holy Spirit to assist me in what to be praying for. As You teach me these things, prepare ME for PREVENTING things from getting into my life that I never wanted in there. Show me how to get Your power working in my behalf by taking me through these courses.
