The Benefits Of Spiritual Growth
Spiritual growth has many characteristics to it:
I Start Getting The Victory
- Jesus, let spiritual growth help me be able to get the victory over challenges, such as spirituality issues, that are controlling my life.
Rom 8:37 (NIV) No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him Who loved us. Let the power and training that comes through You help me grow spiritually so I can get victories that are supernatural.
Mat 19:26 (NIV) Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Phil 4:13 (NIV) I can do everything through Him Who gives me strength. Mat 17:20 (NIV) He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Help me start yielding to You so I can get Your supernatural abilities that make nothing impossible for me.

I Start Living My New Life
- Jesus, let spiritual growth give me a new life that is so wonderful that I never dreamed it was possible.
2 Cor 5:17 (NIV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! Jesus, now that I have this new life; empower me to learn how to live it to its fullest potential.
Rom 15:13 (NIV) May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus, as I grow spiritually, help me face life with a whole new attitude. Let the power of the Holy Spirit flow through me into every situation I face.

I Start Learning Jesus’ Principles
- Jesus, let spiritual growth be done in such an understandable way that I am able to learn and use it very effectively.
1 Cor 2:9 (NIV) However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him”--but God has revealed it to us by His Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. Jesus, let the Holy Spirit explain the things of God to me so I will be able to understand the wonderful things God has prepared for me. Show me that He has a life for me to live here on earth that will be great and wonderful; and, it will count for eternity.

I Start Developing A Strategy
- Jesus, let my spiritual growth be done in such a systematic way that I am able to share the process with others.
2 Tim 2:15 (AKJV) Study to show yourself approved to God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Jesus, let the Bible give me God’s truth in a progressive way. Let each thing You teach me be able to get me ready for the next great truth. Help me grow spiritually by moving me upward as Your truths raise me higher and higher.

I Start Living A Transformed Life
- Jesus, let spiritual growth help me be so transformed that I and the people around me are blessed by my life.
1 Tim 4:15-16 (NIV) Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. Jesus, since people will only want what I have if they see things they have always wanted, let me help people see what You are capable of, if I yield to You and Your Word.
1 Pet 2:12 (NIV) Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. Jesus, let me help even those who resist me to see what You can do to a life. Since many start out resisting, melt that resistance by transforming my life in front of them.

I Start Constantly Living In Victory
- Jesus, let spiritual growth protect me from failing at life, getting knocked out financially, damaged emotionally, misled philosophically, cut off relationally, or debilitated physically.
Eph 6:10-12 (NIV) Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Jesus, as I grow spiritually, teach me and empower me to deal with my earthly issues by being powerful in the spirit realm. Help me stop trying to manipulate things and people and start using my spiritual tools to win at life.
Jesus, since spiritual growth is going to make the difference in what kind of results I am going to experience personally and in helping others succeed, help me, train me, and empower me to grow spiritually.

My Six Powerful Steps To
Living Victoriously Over Spirituality Problems
Spiritual growth has six issues that have to be dealt with:
- Study One: STRATEGY – Jesus, give me a Biblical plan for growing spiritually and living victoriously.
Let the Holy Spirit guide me into a Biblical strategy: John 16:13-15 (NIV) But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to Me by taking from what is Mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is Mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is Mine and make it known to you.

- Study Two: SUBMISSION – Jesus, help me let the right things be constantly being allowed to enter into my life.
Let the Holy Spirit empower me to submit to God’ law: Rom 8:6-7 (NIV) The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.

- Study Three: RESISTANCE – Jesus, empower me to be constantly resisting wrong things that I used to regularly allow to enter into my life.
Let me and the Holy Spirit resist wrong things I used to regularly allow to enter into my life; let this give me a powerful life of freedom: Rom 8:13-14 (NIV) For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if BY the Spirit YOU put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

- Study Four: PURIFICATION – Jesus, empower me to get rid of wrong things that are already in my life.
Let the Holy Spirit point out those things that are wrong in my life: John 16:8 (NIV) When He comes, He will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment.
Help me yield to the Holy Spirit so He can help me pray and get them removed: Rom 8:26 (NIV) In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And He Who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.

- Study Five: PREVENTION – Jesus, empower me to prevent wrong things that are trying to get into my life that I never wanted in there but didn’t have the power to keep out.
Let the Holy Spirit empower me to hate these things: Gal 5:19-21 (NIV) The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery (excessive indulgence in sensual pleasures); idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Let the Holy Spirit will give me these things as replacements: Gal 5:22-23 (NIV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

- Study Six: PROTECTION – Jesus, empower me to protect others who aren’t able to protect themselves. Luke 6:38 (NIV) Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Help me share every breakthrough I get with as many people as I can.
Let the Holy Spirit empower me to share You with those who don’t know You: Acts 1:8 (NIV) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Let the Holy Spirit give me a special message for each individual who doesn’t know You: 2 Cor 5:20 (NIV) We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
Let the Holy Spirit give me a powerful message that will transform lives: 1 Cor 2:4-5 (NIV) My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power.
Let the Holy Spirit help me love my neighbor like I love myself: Rom 5:5 (NIV) And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out HIS LOVE into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, Whom He has given us.
