Jesus, there are some very important things I need to know about You. Make it clear to me that You are God, my heavenly Father is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. Teach me that there aren’t three Gods; even though You, the Father, and the Holy Spirit are three persons. Show me that You are One God because You are so united, so in agreement, and so one that You actually make up one God. Teach me that each of You do different things, You have levels of position, and You have a relationship with me that is different; but, I am only serving one God. Mark 12:29 (NIV) “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.

Jesus, help me not be confused and lost over the complex make up of You, my Father, and the Holy Spirit; so, I now ask You to take me where You want me to go. Help me gradually see certain things about my heavenly Father that will help me understand Him better. Help me get acquainted with You, the Father, and the Holy Spirit. But, help me keep one thing in mind: Isa 55:8-9 (NIV) “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

Jesus, help me see that my first step into a relationship with God is for me to learn ABOUT Him. But, show me that learning ABOUT Him is just theoretical; my next step is the best one; I will be experiencing more and more OF God. Help me understand that I must learn some things ABOUT God; but, I won’t have to be satisfied with that; I and He will establish a relationship that will be personal and real. Make it clear to me that even though God is more than I have the ability to know all about, my first step of getting to know Him is to know He exists.

Rom 1:18 (NIV) The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness. Jesus, help me always keep in mind that there are people who claim to be atheists; they claim to believe there is no God; they try to prove that all the incredible things I see out in the universe and all I see around me on this earth, and all I see about my body came into existence accidently through mindless evolution. However, help me accept the fact that GOD says He created them in six days; and, He says He created the heaven and the earth before that.

Rom 1:19 (NIV) Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. Jesus, help me realize that anyone who wants to, can go out into the world around them and see that it took incredible power and intelligence to come up with the idea, develop the plan, and put together the planet and the life on this planet. Show me that starting from nothing, God invented everything I see. Show me that I can easily see that all the lifeforms on this planet have gaps between them. They didn’t gradually evolve and mutate from one lifeform to another. Each specie stands alone with a huge gap between them and all other species. All the trees, bushes, grass, animals, fish, birds, bugs, and reptiles have huge gaps between them. Make it clear to me that God created them just like He said He did. But, help me understand that He allows me to believe whatever I want.

Rom 1:20 (NIV) For since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities--His eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. Jesus, teach me that the dating process that humans use to try to determine how old the planet and the universe are, fails to take one important thing into account. Just like Adam and Eve could have “appeared” to be quite a few years old RIGHT AFTER being created, so was the heavens and the earth. The trees would have had rings in them indicating they were many years old RIGHT AFTER creation. The earth would have oil, strata layers, fossils, and many evidences of being very old RIGHT AFTER creation.

Rom 1:21 (NIV) For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Jesus, help me remember the moment in my life where God revealed Himself to me. Show me that there was a moment when I was looking up into the sky or at some aspect of God’s CREATION and it spoke to me. All of a sudden I KNEW God existed; but, atheists, agnostics, and secular humanists started presenting their wickedness to me. The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness. They did some extensive damage to me. Heal me from all the damage they have done to me.

Rom 1:22 (NIV) Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools. Jesus, make it clear to me that all the atheists, agnostics, and secular humanists that I meet knew God exists. There was a moment in their life where God’s creation spoke it into their heart. Rom 1:19-20 (NIV) Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities--His eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. They may be fools now; but, everyone of them KNEW GOD AND HIS invisible qualities--His eternal power and divine nature. Help me to always be convinced of this fact about them.

Rom 1:21 (NIV) For although they KNEW God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Jesus, I may have tried to make a deal with these “scientists” by saying that maybe God used evolution as a part of His creation. BUT, show me that if we make one aspect of the living creatures on this planet extinct, it puts the whole planet in jeopredy. Teach me that the existence of each specie is interdependent of all the others. They are like the working components and parts in my car or my body. Make it clear to me that when God said He did each thing in a day, He did it in a day. But, it is up to me as to whether or not I believe in the incredible power of God or the foolish ramplings of atheists, agnostics, and secular humanists. Help me to totally believe You and Your words.

Heb 11:6 (NIV) And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. Jesus, I may believe that the universe, this planet, and all the living things on it have an intelligent design. I may believe there is A god; but, if I don’t believe in THE God, I will fail God’s test. Show me that the more I can see that God is so intelligent and powerful that He created all these living things in six days rather than six billion years, the more I will be able to get to know Him.

Heb 11:6 (NIV) And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. Jesus, if God is going to be God in my life, teach me that I am going to have to get to know Him. I am going to have to know the truth about Him; I am going to have to allow Him to show me Who He is, what He can do, and what kind of God He is. Help me learn His knowledge, His foreknowledge of the future, His understanding, His wisdom, and His power.

Jesus, help me receive this prayer into my heart, mind, will, and life: Eph 1:17 (NIV) I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, SO THAT you may know Him better. Jesus, help me see that I am only going to grow spiritually in those areas where I DON’T limit Who God is and what He is willing and able to do.

Eph 1:18-19a (NIV) I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened IN ORDER THAT you may know the HOPE to which He has called you, the RICHES of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His INCOMPARABLY GREAT POWER for us who believe. Jesus, help me understand that these things may not have the impact on me that they will as I yield to sanctification and start growing spiritually. BUT, the answers to this prayer that is being prayed for me will help me get these things and will become real to me.

Eph 1:19b-21 (NIV) That POWER is like the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. Jesus, help me see that I have a lot to learn about how powerful God is. And, I need to allow this intelligent, powerful God be God in my life. If I do, I will not limit Him or keep Him from working miracles and supernatural things in me, for me, with me, and through me.
