Jesus, since I belong to You, then I am Abraham’s seed, and heir according to the promise (Gal 3:29). Make it clear to me that ALL the promises of God flow through Abraham who was a Jew. So, part of my blessings, benefits, and inheritance flow through Him. Show me that my new birth made me into a spiritual part of Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. This qualified me for thousands of years of promises from God to His people.

Gal 4:1 (NIV) What I am saying is that as long as THE HEIR is a child, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. Jesus, help me see that as a CHILD of God, I have been placed on a planet with very little power or influence over myself or my environment. Help me see that, even with humans placed in a very limited body with very little power, we can still do a lot of damage to the planet and to the people on it. We create wars, poverty, abuse, slavery, and all kinds of different types of suffering. We develop medicines, cures, and help; but, we will charge as much as we can for them. Help me be different; and, help me, as an heir, to take everything I learn and start living and sharing it with the rest of the world.

Gal 4:2 (NIV) He is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. Jesus, teach me that the reason I am being asked to submit myself to You is so You can help me become a very dynamic heir. Show me that if I yield to Your training, when the proper time comes, I will be fully trained and ready to be a great success in eternity. You will give me human assignments that teach me very important Biblical principles. And, they will help me accomplish some very wonderful things here on earth. Then, based on my performance, You will give me awesome opportunities in eternity. So, since this is what is going on right now in my life, help me apply myself to all this training. Let that training help me be used by God in a mighty way for His glory and honor.

Gal 4:3-4 (NIV) So also, when we were children, we were in slavery under the basic principles of the world. Jesus, help me see that I started out as a sinning human; I was a slave to my body’s sinful nature, which are its drives, desires, and weaknesses. So, my first step into the great things of God was to be born again. Teach me that as a human, I qualified to receive salvation and justification through You: Rom 8:3 (NIV) For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending His Own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so He condemned sin in sinful man, IN ORDER THAT the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.

Gal 4:4-5 (NIV) But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. Jesus, make it clear to me that having the full rights of sons is one thing; taking advantage of them is another. Help me continue to “do what it takes” to take full advantage of them. I am DESIRING to take full advantage; I am STUDYING how to take full advantage; I am PRAYING and asking God to help me take full advantage; I am fixing my eyes on You so You will speak faith into me so I can BELIEVE You have empowered me to take full advantage; I am LOVING people enough to share with them how to take full advantage; and I am taking FAITH-ACTION and living on the basis of the fact that God has empowered me to take full advantage.

Gal 4:6 (NIV) Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son INTO our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” Jesus, as I DESIRE, STUDY, PRAY, BELIEVE, LOVE, and take FAITH-ACTION, teach me that by doing so I am taking advantage of the fact that I have Your Spirit inside me. Help me keep allowing You to empower me and take me into the great things of God. But, help me understand that as long as I, THE HEIR, am a child, I am no different from a slave, although I own the whole estate. But, I am yielding to You and am currently allowing You to train me in. Help me see that this makes my earthly and eternal future VERY EXCITING!

Gal 4:7 (NIV) So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir. Jesus, help me understand that I was born again into being a child of God, a member of His family, and a citizen in His Kingdom. Because of that, I have received the full rights of a son. But, help me see that for now, I am subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by my heavenly Father. Show me that as I faithfully allow You to take me through these studies and prayers, You are getting me ready for my Father’s time set. You are asking me to fulfill all my assignments well in all of my life classes. Teach me that this will give me great success here on earth and bring great success in eternity.

Heb 2:6-8 (NIV) But there is a place where someone has testified: “What is man that You are mindful of him, the son of man that You care for him? You made him a little lower than the angels; You crowned him with glory and honor and put everything under his feet.” In putting everything under him, God left nothing that is not subject to him. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to him. Jesus, sometimes I don’t feel like I am special; sometimes it doesn’t look like God has crowned me with glory and honor and put everything under my feet; and, help me see that He hasn’t yet. Make it clear to me that what I have to do is move into You, Jesus; show me that this is because You have already “done what it takes” to fulfill all the requirements. Now, all I have to do is join You in learning how to live on the basis of them.

Mat 28:18 (NIV) Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Jesus, You have alreay passed the test for me; now, show me that all I have to do is join You and You will take me into The Victorious Christian Life. John 15:4 (NIV) Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me. Teach me that my assignment is to learn how to remain in You; if I do, You will remain in me. Show me that I am currently learning how to remain in You SO You will remain in me. Once I learn that, You will transform me into a successful inheritor.
