Jesus, take me through a quick look at some of the things I am going to have to deal with as a spirit being in a human body. Help me accept the fact that it isn’t going to be easy to gain my victory over my human body. But, I, as a spirit being, can win, if I allow myself to be trained by You in the Bible. Show me that You and the Bible’s power will be more than enough to help me get ready for The Victorious Christian Life. Show me what is standing in my way, as I head into being victorious in You.

Rom 8:12 (NIV) Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation--but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. Jesus, teach me that the sinful nature is located in my body. Make it clear to me that it is animalistic, selfish, and has a lot of power over me. It can make me think I HAVE TO obey its drives, desires, needs, and wishes. But, teach me that me breaking free from its control and making it obey me, as a spirit being, is the main objective in Kingdom inheritance training.

Rom 8:13a (NIV) For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die. Jesus, help me see that this isn’t optional; I must be set free from the control of the sinful nature located in my body. But, help me understand that the way salvation and justification dealt with that problem was to keep me from being responsible to the Old Testament laws that were giving power to my sinful nature in my body. Rom 8:3-4 (NIV) For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending His Own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so He condemned sin in sinful man, IN ORDER THAT the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to THE SINFUL NATURE but according to THE SPIRIT.

Rom 8:13b-14 (NIV) But, if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. Jesus, help me see that this is the key to The Victorious Christian Life: if BY the Spirit YOU. You are wanting to teach me how to yield to the influence and power of the Holy Spirit. Show me that since He lives inside me, He is able to help me in ways that are very personal and real. Help me realize that I and the Holy Spirit are able to do things that have been impossible for me prior to this. It is just a matter of me learning how to yield to Him. Teach me that there is a six principle method that takes me into the full power of the Holy Spirit in my life.

Jesus, help me DESIRE to stop yielding to the sinful nature and start yielding to the Holy Spirit; help me STUDY the Bible and learn how to stop yielding to the sinful nature and start yielding to the Holy Spirit; help me PRAY and ask God to empower me to stop yielding to the sinful nature and start yielding to the Holy Spirit; help me look to You to speak faith into me so I can BELIEVE You HAVE empowered me to stop yielding to the sinful nature and start yielding to the Holy Spirit; help me LOVE people enough to share with them how to stop yielding to the sinful nature and start yielding to the Holy Spirit; help me take FAITH-ACTION and join You in being empowered to quit yielding to the sinful nature and start yielding to the Holy Spirit, so I can successfully put to death the misdeeds of my body.

Rom 8:15 (NIV) For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by Him we cry, “Abba, Father.” Jesus, teach me that the number one issue in yielding to Your power that flows from Him, through the Holy Spirit, and into me is, DESIRE. Since I am not a robot or a slave, God honors my free will with a great intensity. Teach me that the hardest thing for us all is to get to the place where we are willing to “do what it takes” to get Your help. I know I want to be set free from my difficulties with spirituality. And, it feels like I would be willing to do almost anything to see to that happening. But, help me understand that a lot of the time my heart is fooling me.

Jer 17:9-10 (NIV) The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? “I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve.” Jesus, You have been spending a lot of time trying to convince my mind about these truths in the Bible. Sometimes I feel like You are over doing it by keeping on convincing rather than getting on with telling me how. Show me that I can be taught The Six Biblical Principles and The Three Keys To All Of Christianity until I can quote them backward and forward. But, if my heart doesn’t DESIRE these things of God, I can get caught and stopped at the very first principle in The Six Biblical Principles. Help me see that God is searching my heart; and, if He sees my heart doesn’t REALLY want something, You won’t do it for me.

Rom 8:16 (NIV) The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Jesus, You healed a lot of people while You were walking around on this earth. Some of these people were so appreciative that they devoted the rest of their healed life to living out Your principles. Others took their healed body and used it to do wrong, bad, and even evil things with it. The Holy Spirit is telling me that I am a child of God. But, help me understand what I should do with all these rights and privileges that are now coming my way. Show me that what You want me to do with this assurance I am getting from the Holy Spirit is, You want to help me use my child of God life for loving myself, other people, and God.

Rom 8:17 (NIV) Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory. Jesus, what is it going to take to help me become so appreciative of God’s blessings, provisions, and opportunities that I will devote my life to You? Teach me that one of the most powerful things that can change my attitude is to see how generous God is. Help me see that me being a child of God could mean a lot of things; but, what it actually means is, I inherit God! And, it also means that I am co-heirs with You, my Christ. But, help me see that, that may not excite me or help me DESIRE to totally devote my life to God.

Rom 8:18 (NIV) I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. Jesus, make it clear to me that here is a person who is so excited about his future rewards that any pain or suffering he has to go through to get them is considered worth it. He sees clearly what God has stored up for his future; so, he is sold out to God and is enjoying it. God has so impressed him with all the inheritance benefits that nothing is going to get in his way. Do that for me; help me look into what my future will be like if I put my complete trust in You.
