Mat 5:17-19 (NIV) Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

I Don’t Think That Is Relevant For Today
A lot of the time we think the Old Testament is closed and that the only things we are responsible for are the things in the New Testament. Some say that if tithing isn’t in the New Testament, for example, then we are not responsible for it. This theory is saying that only those parts of the Old Testament that are repeated in the New Testament are still in effect.

However, Jesus is putting the full responsibility on us for everything in the Old Testament. It is just in a different form.
He is taking the Old Testament and fulfilling it. As He brings the Old Testament into the New Testament, we get a chance to see it in its true, original form and purpose.

A lot of the Holy Spirit’s ministry through Paul is involved in bringing the Old Testament into Christianity. The Holy Spirit is making every aspect of the Old Testament a reality that is motivated by love.

The most revolutionary concept in all the Bible is presented by Jesus as He sums up the entire Old Testament in four verses.
