Handling People Who Are Hard To Get Along With
Mat 5:39 (NIV) But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. There are evil people who must be avoided at all costs. If you can’t get away from them, you need to try to not set them off as must as is possible. When you read verses like this, it isn't talking about a spouse or a parent. It is talking about an accidental encounter. Being nice to an evil person is your best way of getting away with as little damage as is possible. But, getting away must be your major objective. After you have gone the extra mile, given them your coat, or whatever they demanded, if it doesn't change their attitudes and character, move on--FAST!

Mat 7:6 (NIV) “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces. As you can see, this is a matter of asking God to help you avoid evil people. But, people who give you a hard time are different. Your assignment here is to love them, pray for them, and greet them. Mat 6:14-15 (NIV) For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. This takes the power of Jesus to do; but, this is the only way you will be able to set a difficult person free.
