Let’s take a quick look at some of the basics of Jesus’ disciple training system. He presented two requirements for moving into a life that lives fully the things of God’s Word. First, you must remain in Him. Second, He and His Words have to remain in you. That is the system Jesus and His Bible set forth for getting the Scriptures of the Gospels to infuse themselves into your life and ministry on a permanent basis.

John 15:7 (NIV) If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.

“If you remain in Me....” There are four aspects to remaining in Jesus:

1. Totally: No reservations, no stipulations, and no holding back.


2. Permanently: Never satisfied with what you have, never reaching the goal, never having ownership in yourself, constantly seeking all of Him all the time.


3. Intimately: An attentive, growing relationship of love, devotion, and depth that draws you into Him.


4. Personally: A focusing of thoughts, feelings, actions, speech, activities, and influence toward God.

“And [if] My Words remain in you....” The five aspects of His Words remaining in you.

1. Knowledge: Having information stored in your human brain concerning what the Bible says.


2. Understanding: Constantly receiving interpretations from the Holy Spirit as to what the Bible means.


3. Wisdom: Always receiving training and power from Jesus as to how the interpretations are to manifest themselves in and through your life.


4. Will: An individual decision as to whether or not you are willing to allow these manifestations to take place in and through your life.


5. Life: Always allowing application of Biblical principles by the Holy Spirit into your life because you are willing to accept the change.
