PETER AND JOHN - CONTINUED
“For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything He tells you. Anyone who does not listen to Him will be completely cut off from among His people.’ Indeed, all the prophets from Samuel on, as many as have spoken, have foretold these days. And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers. He said to Abraham, ‘Through your offspring all peoples on earth will be blessed.’ When God raised up His servant, He sent Him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”

The priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to Peter and John while they were speaking to the people. They were greatly disturbed because the apostles were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead.
They seized Peter and John, and because it was evening, they put them in jail until the next day. But many who heard the message believed, and the number of men grew to about five thousand.

A lot of us would have said: “I came here to pray. I don’t have time right now to be messing around with a handicapped person. I will try to get back here with some money tomorrow or the next day.” But, God has His own plans and He is going to do it in a God-sized way. What He is looking for is the person He can do it through. Wouldn’t it be great if He decided to do it through us? With Jesus’ disciple training system we can be made ready to have such a relationship with God. Then we will be ready! We will be in the right spiritual condition, with the necessary Biblical training, totally submitted to God’s plan, and talking to the right people, at the right time, about the right things. That’s when the great and mighty things of God happen.
