This Is Day Five
You Are On Page Two of Two Pages

The procedures for obtaining understanding:

1. Ask the Holy Spirit to empty out any preconceived opinions, impressions, personal preferences, and biases.

2. Pray for the Holy Spirit to explain the Scripture to you. Find out what His original intentions were when He caused it to be written.

3. Meditate on a verse and allow the Holy Spirit to start revealing its meaning to you.

4. Read the passages above and below the verse you want to understand and see if the Holy Spirit causes its meaning to start to become clear.

5. Take related Scriptures that the Holy Spirit has already helped you to understand and compare them with the one you don’t understand or want to understand better. Allow the Holy Spirit to bridge all of these Scriptures together.

6. Consult a reliable church leader or mature Christian that you respect.

7. Read reliable Christian books by trustworthy authors on the subject (Just because someone has written a book, doesn’t make them an expert).

8. If it still doesn’t come clear, put it aside and wait on God’s timing for that particular Scripture.
