I Think I’m Ready To Start Teaching
If we struggle with being humble in the first place, we really struggle with the issue of staying humble. But, if we pray for and yield to all the components of the Beatitudes, God will start us in a ministry that is completely guided by the Holy Spirit. In Acts 10:9-18, God shows Peter a vision that helps him learn that He wants to start providing the good news message to the Gentiles. God has caused Cornelius, a Gentile, to go get Peter to come and tell them about Jesus.

Acts 10:19-23 (NIV) While Peter was still thinking about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Simon, three men are looking for you. So get up and go downstairs. Do not hesitate to go with them, for I have sent them.”

Peter went down and said to the men, “I’m the one you’re looking for. Why have you come?” The men replied, “We have come from Cornelius the centurion. He is a righteous and God-fearing man, who is respected by all the Jewish people. A holy angel told him to have you come to his house so that he could hear what you have to say.”

Then Peter invited the men into the house to be his guests. The next day Peter started out with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa went along.
The attitudes of Jesus, found in the Beatitudes, are operating in Peter all the time. The work of God is flowing through him; and he is hearing the Holy Spirit without it causing him to move into pride. God is using him in a mighty way; and he is giving all the glory to God.

Peter has finally reached the place where he is spiritual salt. Spiritual salt isn’t spiritual salt if it doesn’t have every component of the Beatitudes bonded together in appropriate amounts. This can only happen when we don’t make a move without consulting and following God first.

Even though the Holy Spirit is God, He gets His cues from the Father.

John 16:13 (NIV) But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come.

If God, the Holy Spirit, yields to God, the Father, how much more do we need to humble our self and listen before we speak or act? Once we are convinced that we need to wait for God’s direction for everything, then and only then are we humble. From there we will become spiritual salt.
