2 Cor 5:17 (NIV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

They have seen the truth and rejected it. They aren’t our friends. They aren’t our friend’s friends. They may be washed and clean on the outside. But, they are just better looking dogs and hogs. No spiritual power from God to change their heart and life has been allowed to work in them. They don’t want to go into the Kingdom of God and they don’t want any of our friends to go in either.

Like John the Baptist and Jesus, we have to speak against what they teach and how they live. But, it often looks like we are kicking a poor dog or mistreating a helpless pig. The only way the truth can stay in front of all involved is to show everyone how people are being damaged by their concepts.

Luke 13:14-17 (NIV) Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue ruler said to the people, “There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.”

The Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water? Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?” When He said this, all His opponents were humiliated, but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things He was doing.

God’s ways always make sense to the poor, needy, and abused. To those with sincere hearts, these words opened their eyes to the truth of God. All of a sudden they saw things from a whole new perspective. God loved them and made all His commandments for their benefit. He doesn’t make rules that hurt people. He has produced the Bible so as to set them free. Religion and human rules are the ones that enslave them.

Sure there are dogs and hogs that say these religious and human rules are from God. But, Jesus made it clear that they aren’t. We too have to make these things clear to those around us. Wonderful things are going to happen in and through us when we start seeing who is who around us. Awesome miracles of God are going to set people free as we present the truth about God and His love.
