I’m Starving For You
Psa 42:1 (NIV) As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for You, O God.

The words used in this beatitude from the original Greek language for hungering and thirsting are quite intense. The best English word would be to starve. Those who are starving for righteousness will be filled. That kind of an attitude is only going to come through the Holy Spirit.

Just like a feeling of starvation would push us toward trying to find food and water, we can yield to this drive from God and it will draw us into a passion that will open our heart, life, and ministry to all God has.
The promise in the Scripture from Jesus’ sermon is that, as we start hungering and thirsting after righteousness, we will be filled. Jesus is waiting for our permission to fill our heart, life, and ministry with His presence and His manifestations.

Yielding to Him will produce a crop of the fruit of the Spirit. We and our friends will experience Jesus in all His beauty as we open up our heart and give Him permission to do His will in and through us.
