Jesus’ Sermon On The Mount
Study Thirty-Two

This Is Day One

Two Results From The Life Of Christ
John 15:4 (NIV) Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.

There are two kinds of fruit being addressed here. The fruit of the Spirit and the gospel message that is planted in the life of those we share Christ with. If we take the vine illustration Jesus is using here, then the fruit is a grape. There are two parts to a grape, the meat and the seed.
People eat the grape for delicious food. They plant the seed for building up the vineyard.

The fruit of the Spirit is what we have emanating out of our life as meat from a grape. People experience this fruit of the Spirit from us and are blessed. Then out of this same fruit of the Spirit we present a seed. The gospel message is planted in their life and salvation may then come out of it. If they accept the gospel seed, they will be saved.

This concludes your studying for today.

what you have studied so far.
Let Jesus use these truths to change your life.
