Mat 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

This Gives Us Direct Access
Rom 8:25-27 (NIV) But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And He who searches our hearts [our heavenly Father] knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.

Now we have an intercessor that directly connects us to the Father. According to this Scripture, the Holy Spirit is in us to help us with our weakness.

Our biggest weakness is our communication with God, prayer.
  • We pray for things that are not God’s will.
  • We don’t pray for things that are God’s will.
  • We pray for things that are God’s will but not for the right reasons.
In all of these cases, we end up doing without the things we desperately need from God. This is where the Holy Spirit comes to our rescue. The Holy Spirit can put our deepest needs and concerns into intercessions to our heavenly Father.

Our heavenly Father has been searching our heart, knows what needs to be prayed for, and then accepts the intercession of the Holy Spirit in our behalf. This Scripture explains that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us in accordance to God’s will. That means that all His requests get answered positively.

If we fail to continue to be poor in spirit, we block the communicative skills of the Holy Spirit.
