Mat 5:3-12 (NIV) Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.  Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.  Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.  Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.  Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.  Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.  Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

It Didn’t Work So I Faked It
Do we really want to be a part of Jesus’ ministry? Are we really open to what He says we are going to have to be, do, and teach? We are His next wave of trainees (some of us feel we are too far advanced to be a “trainee”). What would it take to be able to do the ministry lived by His trainees recorded in the book of Acts? Are you finding that God’s power isn’t flowing like it did with them?
Are you having to resort to techniques that don’t require God’s power? If our ministry could be done by any human being, Christian or not, we need to come and sit down with Jesus on the mountainside and start listening. We need to say to Him: “I am sorry I didn’t receive these things from you before; but, I am here now, sitting at your feet, ready to listen and obey. I ask you to help me not teach them to others until you have produced them in me.”
