Preparing You For Jesus’ Ministry
Study One

This Is Day Two
You Are On Page Two of Two Pages

A Typical Spiritual Maturity
There are two aspects to every Christian, their personal Christian life and their ministerial call to the helping of hurting people. Over the years, since Jesus’ ministry on this earth, some have tried to divide up these issues. They have implied that “lay” Christians do the menial tasks and provide support, while the professionals are responsible for the ministry. Lay people, they say, aren’t responsible for any ministerial gifts. However, the Bible doesn’t teach that way.

Heb 5:12 (NIV) In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!
The Needs Of Those Around You
The Bible teaches a natural progression from spiritual infant to mature Christian, who is responsible for teaching others. This Scripture is saying that when this natural progression doesn’t happen, there is a spiritual problem in that individual.

While it is true that we are not all called to fulltime ministry, it is not true that some do not have ministerial gifts. We are not going to see the whole world reached with the gospel message if everyone does not get involved. What you have to realize is that those who are in fulltime ministry aren’t in the workplace. You are. If you don’t do your part out where you are, those people may never be reached.
