Here is where Jesus really comes in handy. He is going to reveal in several ways what we have to become. First, He outlines the basic characteristics of the life He is going to be living in front of His trainees. All of the things He is presenting here are resident in Him. Then, as we walk away from the mountain with all this information, we are going to be watching it all in our daily walk with Him.

When we are exposed to concepts like “poor in spirit” we usually leave Jesus and try to get the interpretation somewhere else. That would be a mistake. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith. He is the Beginning and the End of all we need. He is the complete package for all our training, empowering, transforming, and anointing. We learn it, become it, and share it all through Him.
