We Have To Look At How Well God Supplies Needs
When Jesus asks us why we are worrying about clothes, we don’t think He is talking to us. We often don’t even agree with Him on this issue, much less the issue of serving money. What makes Jesus think we are worrying about clothes? We have a whole closet full of them. If we threw them all away, we could get some more at the store. We aren’t worried about clothes. Why? Because we have a job that takes care of all our needs for clothes. But, let’s say we ended up like the lilies. They don’t have a job. They don’t labor or spin (making cloth). Let’s compare our life with the lily. If we didn’t have a job, would we START worrying about clothes?

There is no money coming in, all our clothes got stolen, and we don’t have a job. What are we going to wear? Why would we start worrying, if something like this happened to us? Because we wouldn’t believe that God was going to come through.
Phil 4:19 (NIV) And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Or, my job will meet all my needs according to its benefits in the company. This may make us laugh or it may make us mad. But, if we examine our life against eternal issues, it will make us cry. This is what is being dealt with here. This is what Jesus is trying to challenge in our life. We must change our mind on all of this. It is dealing with our being able to serve God. That isn’t a minor issue.
