Got Milk?
1 Cor 3:2-3 (NIV) I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere men?
I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Modern men and women may not understand this milk analogy. We probably think of milk as just being a liquid food. The truth is, a mother’s milk is regular food that the mother has eaten, digested, processed, and manufactured into the perfect diet for a baby. Spiritual milk is much more like that. Someone has to eat the solid food of the Word, digest it, process it, and manufacture it into the perfect diet for a spiritual baby. |
The spiritual baby has a pure heart because God has made them innocent through salvation. They pretty much fail as a mature Christian because they haven’t started the sanctification process. All the spiritual body parts are there. They just don’t do much as it relates to Christianity. They don’t walk in the Spirit (they don’t even crawl in the Spirit).
If you don’t keep them diapered, they will poop all over your church; and here’s an example of that: Indeed, you are still not ready. You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere men? Doesn’t this sound like most of these people are diaper less? What a mess! |
