Mat 7:13-14 (NIV) Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Many ministers struggle with the challenge: “How can a good God send people to a horrible place like hell?”

There are two places a person can go. To heaven, which is the place where God’s presence is; or, to hell, which is the place where God’s presence isn’t. I am pretty confident that hell has real fire. However, I am sure the fire isn’t nearly as painful as being in a place where God’s presence isn’t being manifest. More than likely the fire is there just to help us understand that it is going to be really painful living there. The pain I experienced as a sinner taught me a lot about being separated from God. But, I am sure that was nothing compared to being cut off from Him.
