Two Commissions
Here is what every person is to be looking for in living the Christian life and doing the ministry God has called them to do: The Personal Commission:
John 15:5 (NIV) I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.
John 15:7 (NIV) If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. |
The Ministerial Commission:
Mat 28:18-20 (NIV) Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey EVERYTHING I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” |
