If we know God’s Word says something, we can be a little more confident when we speak. It wouldn’t be a good idea to fake it here. People come to us thinking that we are a good source for getting what God says. It is a natural assumption that God’s people should be able to tell us what God’s Word says.

The seekers and the new believers trust their Christian friends to give them Biblical guidance. If we fail them because of poor preparation or poor spiritual condition, it isn’t going to go well with us. Plus, many ministers are dropping out because of spiritual failure in their own lives. Why? Not enough Biblical support to sustain their own spiritual wellbeing. A good Christian book can serve as a glass of milk to drink with a steak dinner of God’s Word.

We desperately need Biblical knowledge. However, we sometimes assume that any of God’s Word is right for us and others. Yes, it is true that God’s Word is all good. But, any Scripture we choose will not necessarily help us or those around us. It is God’s Word and God must be allowed to decide which Scriptures we study and which Scriptures we use on others.
