Who Put This Tree Here?
Gen 2:9 (NIV) And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground--trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Leave that tree of the knowledge of good and evil out and we would all probably still be in the Garden of Eden. Why would God put the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in Paradise? Because, Man is only a robot without a free will. And, Man is still a robot even with a free will, if he doesn’t have choices.

We have a free will; and we have choices to exercise that free will on. God honors our free will; and, He honors our choices. However, if we make the wrong choice, He isn’t going to be able to just give us whatever we wish. I am sure we can think of a lot of things we would wish for, if left to our carnal, fleshly (body) desires. So, the requirements for this Scripture are: John 15:7 (NIV) IF you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you WISH, and it will be given you. A disciple who has reached the place that this Scripture is drawing out is going to have a very dynamic ministry. His will is unified with the Father’s will. This disciple can be trusted with the prayer procedure. The Father is responding favorably to everything this disciple wishes. Now this is a relationship worth reaching out for. So, let’s spend some time comparing this type of relationship with the Father and the one many of us have been experiencing on a regular basis. “...ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.” |
