Law

If We Love Jesus We Will Keep His Commandment

There is a lot of confusion about what sin is. Many, who have decided that the law no longer has any effect on our lives, are living in total disobedience against God. Jesus is saying that the law is still in existence. God still hates sin; and, the law defines what sin is.

The major thing that has happened in the New Testament is a defining of how we are going to go about living victoriously over sin.
The law still defines what sin is. God hasn’t changed His mind about that.

Rom 7:13 (NIV) Did that which is good, then, become death to me? By no means! But in order that sin might be recognized as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.

That is a lot of what is missing today. We have developed a skewed attitude toward sin. Even though Jesus’ blood covered all our sins and righteousness has been credited to our account, we still have to see sin as being utterly sinful.

This concludes your studying for today.
Just spend some time thinking and praying about
what you have studied so far.
Let Jesus use these truths to change your life.
