Protection From
The Author Of Temptations
This is the finishing concept of not being led into temptation. The originator of all temptation is Satan. He is the power behind all those things that try to tempt us. When people and things become a distraction to us, it is Satan that is using them to try to get us to sin or be detoured from God’s will.
When we pray this part of this prayer, it has to be an expression of our heart’s desires. Here is how a good heart-desire looks.

Eph 4:27 (NIV) And do not give the devil a foothold.

Since this relationship with God is a collaborative relationship, we have to be willing to do our part. We can’t just pray: “Deliver me from the evil one” and then give the devil a foothold in our life. Let’s take a look at an example of this.
