We usually know what we need to do next each day, don’t you? Why would Jesus need to be led by the Spirit? Here is where we start to see the difference in us and Him. Jesus isn’t going to do anything unless He is told to.

Phil 2:5-8 (NIV) Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: WHO, BEING IN VERY NATURE GOD, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death-- even death on a cross!

Our attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus. We need to be the kind of servant of God that can receive and carry out orders. It doesn’t matter what my opinions, plans, desires, and notions are. I need to give them up and let God tell me what His plans are for each day. I know there are people out there saying they are being led by the Spirit and doing some pretty weird things. But, they were doing pretty weird things long before they started claiming to be led by the Spirit. We have to follow this example of Jesus’ submission to God’s Spirit. If we don’t, we are not going to be were God wants us, doing what God wants us doing.
