The Ministerial Commission:
John 8:28-29 (NIV) So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am the One I claim to be and that I do nothing on My own but speak just what the Father has taught Me. The One Who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do what pleases Him.”
John 5:19 (NIV) Jesus gave them this answer: “I tell you the truth, the Son can do NOTHING by Himself; He can do ONLY what He sees His Father doing, because WHATEVER the Father does the Son also does.” John 12:49-50 (NIV) For I did not speak of My own accord, but the Father Who sent Me commanded Me what to say and how to say it. I know that His command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told Me to say. John 14:10 (NIV) Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me? The words I say to you are not just My Own. Rather, it is the Father, living in Me, Who is DOING His work. |
John 14:31 (NIV) “But the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what My Father has commanded Me....”
John 15:15 (NIV) I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know His master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from My Father I have made known to you. This is Jesus! Can you believe how submitted He was to listening, yielding, and obeying the Father. If He did His life and ministry this way, how much more must we? This approach solves a lot of pride issues. If you design, implement, lead, motivate, and push to a conclusion a plan; you are going to be tempted to accept all the praise and glory for the success. Provided it does succeed in the first place. If the whole plan is from God where He designed, implemented, led, motivated, and brought it to a conclusion; then you are almost forced to give Him all the glory and credit. Plus, this way of doing your Christian life and ministry requires a relationship with God. As far as God is concerned, this is what we humans are all about. You are here for a relationship with your heavenly Father. |
