Where it all becomes confusing is the fact that these dogs, hogs, and wolves in sheep’s clothing appear to be caring people. They seem to be people who are helping the needy. Look at all those loving people who help the sick. Then look at those needy people’s medical bills. Look at all those loving people who loan people money for getting a house. Now look at all the foreclosures where those loving people take the owner’s house and the payments they made away from them. Look at all those who love you so much that they will sell you something you really don’t need and didn’t think you wanted.

James 2:5-7 (NIV) Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom He promised those who love Him? But you have insulted the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? Are they not the ones who are slandering the noble name of Him to Whom you belong?

God is teaching and empowering you to be able to help the needy and hurting people without exploiting them. Those are the kinds of good works that come out of salvation. That is why you need to keep your ministry simple and financially basic. Home ministry doesn’t require large offerings and major financial campaigns. You have more time to pray, study, spend time with God and people, when you don’t have major organizations and expensive buildings to try to take care of.

Home ministry will soon spread way out of your control. It will multiply and expand into geographical areas where you would have to have incredible records to keep up with it all. Christian leaders that try to keep the spread of Jesus’ ministry inside their denomination, organization, or church have to develop very large departments with lots of staff. Soon they are working on the organization much more than they are ministring to hurting people. Less time is spent with God and people and more time is spent with keeping everything under our control.
