Mat 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

What More Could You Ask For?
Rom 3:22 (NIV) This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference.

Just as faith in Jesus as our Savior provides us with righteousness credited to our record, so faith in studying His life and ministry provides righteousness manifest through our lives and ministries.

The way we treat ourselves and the people we come in contact with is controlled by the righteousness we have inside us. Even though Jesus lives inside our heart and life, we still have the authority to decide how much He flows through us into the lives of others. Our free will is always intact. God never takes it away from us. Faith and the belief that comes through that faith empowers us to allow Him to live His righteousness out through us into the lives of those around us.

Seeking, hungering, and thirsting after God’s righteousness isn’t striving for something outside of us. If we spend all our time trying to GET God’s righteousness, we will be using the wrong approach. Hungering and thirsting is bringing us to a place of YIELDING to Jesus, Who currently lives inside us. It brings us to a place of craving the life and ministry of Jesus flowing in and through us.
If we were sinners and had not been born again, then our assignment would be GETTING the righteousness of God. Faith has to accept the fact that we ARE the righteousness of God IN Christ Jesus.

2 Cor 5:21 (NIV) God made Him Who had no sin to be sin for us, so that IN Him we might become the righteousness of God.

Rom 1:17 (NIV) For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

By faith we are empowered to YIELD to Jesus, Who lives inside us. The hunger and thirst just help us open our will to Him and allow Him to live and minister through us.

It is at those moments when our body wants to do one thing and our spirit (inner-being) wants to do things God’s way. We can use our will to pray for God’s power to live the life and ministry of Jesus in righteousness or we can simply yield to our body’s desires.

While you are feeling pressure from your body, you are praying and getting Scriptures from the Holy Spirit that guide you in power to do things according to the will of Jesus. It is a battle that you will start winning more and more. Every victory will put you into more and more of the life and ministry of Jesus.
