1 John 2:22-23 (NIV) Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist--he denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

The ultimate lie is the rejection of Jesus as the Messiah (Christ). People think they are making this decision for themselves alone. That, however, is not true. Others see their life and their decisions and pattern after them. Sooner or later, they will share their rejection of Jesus as the Christ with others.

At some point in their life, they will try to convince someone that Jesus isn’t the Christ. That is the spirit of antichrist. That is taking someone down with them. That is believing a lie and inflicting others with that lie.

We are heading in the opposite direction. We are yielding to the life and ministry of Jesus as we study and expose ourselves to the Gospels. We are accepting Jesus as the Christ (Messiah). We are yielding to Him more and more so He can shine in and through us. We are helping as many as possible see that He is the Christ.
