Phil 2:19-22 (NIV) I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I receive news about you. I HAVE NO ONE ELSE LIKE HIM, who takes a genuine interest in your welfare. For everyone looks out for his own interests, not those of Jesus Christ. But you know that Timothy has proved himself, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel.

But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. Some even go so far as to try to tear out the Christ foundation from a person’s life and put another one in its place. That is the ultimate act of dishonest ministerial procedure.

If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light.

Now we are talking about the building materials that are often used to build the structure in a person’s life. Jesus’ ministry shows us how to use material that will last for eternity. He shows us how to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? His ministry takes us to the next level. He and His TRUE Christians, mentors, and ministers will teach us, train us, and help us get a building built on our foundation of Jesus that will last for eternity.
