How do we find out what God’s will is for our life and ministry and then submit to it? How do we submit our will to God’s will like Jesus did?

Romans 12: 1-2 gives us the answer. “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is--His good, pleasing and perfect will.”

1. The body laid on the altar as a living sacrifice.
2. The world not conformed to.
3. The mind renewed.

Do these three things, and what do we get? We get a clear picture of what God’s will is. God’s voice comes in as clear as a bell. No static from Satan, no misdirection from our body, no special advice from the world. We would be hearing God’s voice and only God’s voice. We would be able to always pray according to God’s will and get our prayers answered positively. We would never be wondering: “What is God’s will for my life.” No more worrying: “Is this God speaking to me; or, is it me; or, maybe it’s the devil; or, maybe it is the body being influenced by worldly desires or the devil?”

If we would just do these three things we would have our spiritual lives cleared up and our ministry heading in the right direction. Doesn’t that sound simple? Well, that’s the good news. What’s the bad new? We have a will of our own and God isn’t going to supersede it. It’s a good thing that God doesn’t just take over our will once we come to Him. It is good that He only takes over an area of our lives as we submit it to Him. All this keeps us existing as free-will beings. What’s the problem then? We don’t easily give up an area of our lives or ministry to God.
